Bloated and healing to some takes a long time. Your drinking Water, juices or Protein drinks will be working soon. Clear broths will taste great, add a bit of diced onion. Look for some low fat Cream Soups. Non Fat greek yogurt and in small amounts while you continue to heal. Best wishes

Happy And Sad At The Same Time
Rojasanoll replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make someone happy by donating them. -
Unfortunately, all foods you put in your mouth are NOT controlled by the band. Wise choices of what we put in our mouths has too be done around the clock. We all have the same choices in life of staying fat and unhealthy, or attempting to eat better, lose some weight and obtain a healthier quality of life. I have chosen the latter. Best Wishes and Keep the Faith.

Put the protein shakes in the freezer for 30-45 minutes to make a thick smoothie. Tastes like ice cream.

I Seiously Feel Like Im Going To Die On This Liquid Diet
Rojasanoll replied to acoleman380's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
eat broths with some diced onion or spices for added flavors. Try small portion of a cream soup. It has a few more calories than clear broth but it will fill you up better and longer. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. -

Rojasanoll replied to libra8302's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You're really doing great weight loss in such a short time. If your doctor fixes the port maybe your problems will go away. It is important to be concerned about how much fill your doctor is putting im. Since you are paying a deductible every visit ask the doctor for all information . You are entitled to this information. Best wishes and good luck -
A traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Just use smaller portions. One bigger meal is not going to hurt you. A day or two before go to Protein shakes to go in lighter. Turkey, steamed veggies, mashe potatoes, smaller portion of gravy. Have some yogurt, fruit and a relish tray, with some low fat cheeses on your table. Best wishes

Better Now, Thank You Guys For Helping!!!

Try Try again. You will win this battle! Be positive and Keep the Faith. Best wishes -
I'm glad your surgeon is fighting for you. Your family doctor might be able to assist you as well, especially if you have medical problems that are being caused by excessive weight.

You both need to check in with your doctor or you have done the band for nothing. It's okay if you have gained some weight, then doctor will make comments but use them as getting back on track. You both sacrificed on the operating table, and why don't you use the tool as a positive way. Start over by drinking liquids and Protein shakes again, then start introducing some food. I know YOU can DO it! Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

I Feel Great! I Love My Lap Band!!!
Rojasanoll replied to Robyn2002's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations Robyn, and thanks for sharing your very positive story. Looks like you are using your tool to the fullest in your weight loss and in moderation as well. Not too fast and just right. This way you can maintain your weight easier by the good eating habits you are doing. My surgeon only wants me to lose 1 1/2 to 2 pounds per week so I can grow in proper eating habits over a long period of time. Best Wishes and keep th Faith -
Glue and strips only for me.

I'm close to 1200-1400 calories per day, with breakfast being the small one, then lunch and the most calories, dinner time. I drink a protein shake breakfast (add fruit type) and lunch with small chicken salad. Steamed veggies with tuna or chicken at dinner.

Banded 11/12/12, In Recovery!
Rojasanoll replied to SuzyMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best wishes to all of you who were banded 11/12/12 -
Congratulations and you have started a "new" you and getting weight under control. All of us have been on diets before and the "yo-yo" effect of up n down on the weight scale. So most of us decided that assistance on the band or other types was the way to go. You must still work at what you put in your mouth, then band has allowed me to eat smaller portions and still give me a full feeling for longer periods of time. The process will actually teach you what and how to eat better quality foods, Go to weight support meetings, dietitian meetings to get a further understanding of the process. It really works and I should have done this years ago. Best wishes and keep the Faith.

k horsley, you need a unfill of at least 1 - 1.5cc out of the band. You will feel amazing after this. Check in with your doctor very soon. dublinbandgirl, Welcome! The lapband is truly a useful tool but you must restrict yourself from eating the wrong foods. You work at this over time and it does get easier and the full feeling gets longer when you get close to your green zone. Most doctors will put saline solution called a "fill" and it restricts the pouch opening a bit at a time. My bmi was close to 50 when I started. It is the best thing I ever did for myself. Go for It!

Liquid Protein Opinions Needed!
Rojasanoll replied to RichGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Costco Premier protein shakes (chocolate). I put mine in freezer for 30-45 minutes and it tastes like a smoothie. Very tasty, no after taste. Eighteen 11oz shakes in a box ready to drink for $24.99 here in California. I'm still drinking at least 2 daily. -
Your Last Supper......

Congratulations to all of you on considering a procedure for weight control, whether band or other it's all about You and your health. My overall bills were a little over $38,000 and my out of pocket max was $1500 per year. They also repaired a hiatal hernia under my breast bone area. I got stuck with $1280 including a hospital co-payment of out-patient $100. I have BCBS Anthem insurance. My surgeon includes all fills with NO office co-payment for one year. Best wishes

Congratulations to all "newbies" for trying to do something about weight control and getting healthier. Take a notebook, pen, pencil and ask any questions. The seminar I attended was ran by my surgeon and he gave out lots of information. Do a google search on lapband procedure, there's a large variety of information. Also youtube has the lapband procedure filmed in case you are interested. Soon, you will all be on the "otherside" with the rest of us. No matter which procedure you feel is best for you, it is only a tool and you still have too do the hard work about thinking what you put in your mouth. There is NO guarentee with the procedures. Best wishes and Keep the Faith

Denied Long Term Care Insurance Because Of The Band...
Rojasanoll replied to SashaWLS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, I'm so sorry. I've never heard of anyone being denied health insurance because of the band. Guess nobody should be truthful with all the questions. You would think an insurance company would be thinking, this person is trying to control her weight and minimize future health issues. Keep us posted if your insurance re-evaluates it's decision. -
I just had my second fill and it might be my last fill. My doctor wants no more than a 2 pound loss per week. This way he knows I'm eating properly. Since this is my diet for life, he wants me to establish all the right eating decisions and still lose weight.
