Yes very normal. You are healing, the stomach is upset because of a foreign object around it, and your body is trying to store calories for a rainy day. It could stay dormant for 10-15 more days. When you can walk, do your walking as much as you can. SIP your Water not guzzle it. As you get fills and restriction, you will SIp the liquids. Start practicing now. Best wishes

I'm a big meat eater but I have yet to cook a steak and eat one. Just small pieces of roast beef in soups is all I eat and lots of chicken diced carefully and chewed carefully.

How Much Did You Lose In Your First Month?
Rojasanoll replied to bandedsandi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've been on or close to 1200-1300 calories since I started my journey, short of fasting before surgery. I've had 2 fills since Aug 6 and I'm still losing 1 1/2 - 2 pounds per week. -
My dietitian is against all coffee products and my surgeon doesn't care. So, I'm now drinking 1 cup in the morning.

Finally Reached My Goal!!!
Rojasanoll replied to brit_t's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, Congratulations! I know I'll be celebrating, screaming and sharing when I break the 100 mark. Best wishes -
Guess for some, you shouldn't schedule surgery close to holidays. Remember, you are trying to do something for YOU and nobody else. On the positive side, better health, better quality of living and on the "older" side, continue in obesity, poorer health and a bad quality of life. Pick one! Best wishes

Get back on track and try again! It's the healthy choices that are the hardest for any of us. See your doctor again and discuss where you are at. He can check port for slippage. Best wishes

Guess I've tried everything that "slides" into my mouth but since band I haven't tried ice cream, chips or cookies so far.
-
I haven't tried popcorn since way before band date. I've stayed away.

Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
Rojasanoll replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It was harder being fat! The band has been a blessing to me. It is a tool that when utilized to its fullest, allows you to lose weight by staying full longer. Best thing I ever did, after the marriage to my departed beloved wife. -

So What's For Thanksgiving Dinner Bandsters?
Rojasanoll replied to cheryl2586's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For Dinner, turkey (3 oz), 3 tablespoons mashed potatoes w/gravy, green beans, NO bread, NO pie. and Ice water for later. That's my treat on turkey Day. Breakfast/lunch protein shakes, SF popsicle. -
I'm at 1200-1300 calories per day and I'm close to 2 pounds a week with some exercise. Try upping the calories a bit and dropping the protein down to 70g-80g per day. Do this for 5-10 days.

To Own A Scale, Or Not...
Rojasanoll replied to LizAndrews's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh every other morning for positive control on what I stick in my mouth. I got fat by NOT weighing often in the past. I'm reversing all my bad habits to control myself. -
Soooo... Who's Losing Weight Without Exercising?
Rojasanoll replied to Bracchus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Close to 72 pounds in less than 5 months, 40 of those after band day, Aug 6. I have to admit I didn't exercise right after the band. It took awhile to understand that some of us new to walk, use stretch bands to tone arms, legs and tighten possible sagging skin. Muscle burns carbs/starches. I have picked up some exercise on my newly purchased exercise bike. Exercise allows you to burn calories quicker in case you don't make wise choices in eating. Best wishes -
Why So Long Before Surgery?
Rojasanoll replied to oklafarmgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look at it positively! You can start now on losing weight and starting to learn how to use your Protein shakes and sipping Water. I lost 34 pounds prior to seeing a doctor. I knew I had to lose 120-130 pounds according to BMI chart, so I figured let's see how much weight I can lose on a controlled diet. I had a Breakfast shake, for lunch, small bowl of Soup and at dinner a small salad, vinegar/oil dressing and a broiled chicken breast. I learned to chew the chicken/salad 25 times before swallowing. The more you start adapting to a band diet, the easier it will be in a long term state. I hear all these people complaining about fasting, eating very light and starving. Try this for 3 months. We all got ourselves in an obese state and now we don't want to suffer a bit for a better quality of living, better health and a new you. A new You and a healthy You is what our goal will be one day. Best wishes and Keep the faith. -
Wait To Drink H2O After Have Popsicle?
Rojasanoll replied to barb rah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You will be a professional in the fine art of not drinking so close to a meal. SF popsicles are solid water. -
For some, it does take awhile to sleep correctly without any port discomfort. Your body is tender for a few days and is recovering slowly. Mine was about 7 days long before i could sleep on my right side (port is on my right side if I'm looking down to my belly button). It was very tender. Best wishes and Keeep the Faith.

Its Been Over 2 Years Since My Surgery.... Confessional
Rojasanoll replied to Wimic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You dont list any fills you've had on the band. It's important to have your surgeon check you during post op. Maybe you didn't receive enough fills for restriction. Go back to your doctor and explain your situation. Best wishes -
I drank plenty of Crystal lights all flavors and I put the drink in a glass and in the freezer to make a icy slushy drink. Taste great. I added some dice dried onions in my broth to flavor it a bit.

Prayers and Hugs for a very successful surgery. You will do good and after a day or two, on your way to a new YOU. Follow all post-op rules they are important during recovery. Have a heating pad ready at home. Take all your meds prescribed for any discomfort. Do not tough it out! Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
