Weight loss standstill before first fill?
Rojasanoll replied to Lilly07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Remember, all of us heal differently for a few weeks after surgery. Some will lose lots of weight first 14 days, the rest of us will be a holding state. Be patient on everything. It took a long time for us to get heavy and then we tried many diets for a long time. For some, the weight loss can be over 2 years. It's about how to adapt, eat properly and then maintain our new healthy bodies. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Pizza is what I miss the most.

First Fill Today - 8 Weeks Post Op (interesting experience)
Rojasanoll replied to marketingdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor does what wildrose1966 wrote exactly. Since I'm 1 hour away from him, he is careful and I'm also told to drink some Water. The he also directs me to a lobyy for additional 30-45 minutes before being released. During surgery, then band was pre-filled with 1.5cc. My doctor wants be on liquids the first 24 hours after the fill. I add another day or so as a precaution. I just completed my 3rd fill on Dec 11 with 1.5cc added. Best wishes -
New- comsidering the band
Rojasanoll replied to t2dav's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome 12dav. You've joined a great forum with lots of knowledge on the band, sleeve and other surgeries for weight reduction. Almost all here, share their experiences with all of us. Since we are individuals, all of us have responded in different ways. My band was on Aug 6, surgery was less than 1 hours (repaired hernia near breastbone) and installed the band. The next day I was driving without any problems and even attended a weight reduction seminar in my local hospital. You will get all questions answered here. Youtube has videos if you can handle surgery topics. Other Youtube videos have been made by band patients who share their journeys. Best wishes and Keep The Faith. -
Ive tried , small bits of Pasta, some rice but NO breads so far. I feel I need the Protein intake over anything else so I don't slide. So far so good. Best wishes

4TH fill and down 42.5 lbs
Rojasanoll replied to goingfoit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm hoping for my 3rd fill tomorrow, Dec 11. My doctor wants too keep me at about 2 pounds a week whether you're hungry or not. He wants you to work at this weight control by adjusting in your brain and making wise choices. I almost begged for my 2nd fill. I'm close to 6 pounds of weight loss since my last fill, so I'm short 2 pounds. I'm hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that I receive my 3rd. Best wishes -
Doc may have been right and now I dont want to face her
Rojasanoll replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to liquids and protein shakes for 2 of your meals. Then some yogurt, SF popsicles and SF jelly for the other. Try this for a few days to see if you can handle this. Maybe you need a bit of healing time after a fill rather than a normal 24 hours of liquids which my surgeon recommends after each fill. -
Help an Oldie but a Newbie
Rojasanoll replied to SunD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I believe if the doctor offers nearby where you live weight reduction seminars on a monthly basis. My dietitian travels 1 hour to my home town and runs a seminar for 1 hour each month and we sit and talk about our issues. She also provides us a low carb Snacks as samples for us to order if we like them. The latest techniques are discussed. We all share this valuable time monthly. Ther are about 15 of us who show up often. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Probably happens all the time behind our backs. Guess it's Sticks n Stones.

My docotr has 1 year of fills with surgery costs and at my 6 month time, he will do a CBC (complete blood count) and check for any deficiencies in my blood. Glad you're feeling better.

Funny your doctor didn't tell you for 24 hours on liquids only, then next 24 hours mushy food. I have to drink Water in front of my doctor to see if I can do it. Then since I'm 1 hour from his office, I have to stay in the lobby for about 35-40 minutes ato finish all the water. He is a very cautiouous doctor. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

W/OUT THE LAPBAND WHO'S LOST 100 pounds
Rojasanoll replied to SandyC2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I lost 60 to 70 pounds several times in my life and gained it all back. One time I lost 60 pounds (Atkins) and it took 18 months but I lost the battle to being heavy. YO-YO comes to mind about diets. -
Banding On December 13 2012.
Rojasanoll replied to john the tentman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You what's more scary john the tentman, is if you don't do anything to control your weight you may die very young, have numerous heart issues and diabetes. YOU are doing something for YOU and you want to try and be healthy. It's all about you and what you do with your life. The tool is ours to respect and to use wisely. No miracles from the Band. YOU will do good on surgery day and after a few weeks or months have passed you'll say, I should have done this sooner!. Best wishes and Keep the Faith -

I think I'm starting to feel the green zone!
Rojasanoll replied to vmarlau's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not if you follow good eating habits and stay consistent with 1 cup of food each meal. The reason why people think it goes away is because they might over eat more each meal and the pouch may change somewhat.(stretch). Try and keep a certain amount of calories each day. I am around 1200-1300 calories in 3 meals. Remember if you think you're starving, drink crystal light flavor drinks, SF popsicles or SF jello. You must control what you put in your mouth each day. Be consistent and stay in the zone all the time. Best wishes -
The 60-70 Protein grams will keep most people full longer. Stay away from fatty foods which usually have high calories as well. Most fast foods are not very good for you. At the beginning, Protein shakes will be a good ally to have on your side. As food is introduced later in the Stages, lentil, Beans, lean steak and chicken will provide some protein in your diet. I still use 2 protein shakes and then eat a simple dinner. It tends to work for me. Best wishes

Tomorrow at 11am!!! So nervous and excited!
Rojasanoll replied to BeeKipp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations and prayer's for a successful surgery. Your life begins with a new tool inside of you. Proper judgement on the food selections we eat and the tool can give postitive results. Remember for a few weeks you will be healing so don't get upset if you don't see any weight reduction. It will start slow and then buildup. Next thing you will be looking at smaller sizes in clothing. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -

My doctor and dietitian recommended the lapband over the sleeve. IT is the least evausive operation and recovery is quicker.
