I found my port
Rojasanoll replied to fatty2hottie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine never hurt, but I could feel a small bump under the skin line. It's never bothered me the last 2 years. -
It takes our bodies a bit of time after the surgery trauma for the band to work. You heal for a very long time and your stomach slowly adapts to this device around it. Just follow your doctors directions on what to eat and introduce more Protein into your diet. The weight loss was slow at first for me, then it just happened. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

Some doctors start off very slow and introduce a "fill" every so often. My doctor does not fill if I lose 8 pounds a month. He feels that is a good weight reduction and he wants to make sure that I am eating in proper fashion. Not too fast or not too slow. We all have to retrain our brains in what and how we eat for our healthy future. We can't live with our past eating habits or the Lapband will NOT work very well. Hang in there and be patient with your band. It does work! Best wishes and Keep the faith.

Wow my dear! A powerful message for all of us. You look outstanding. Love that you talked about personal health first of all. With good health we can do it all. You are our poster girl! Hugs and continued Best wishes. -
Lots of walking after your surgery and all bubbles from gas will go away. I drove next day to a lapband forum meeting without any problems. Follow your doctor's orders after surgery.

Check with your doctor, a slight unfill might be in order.

Best wishes

usually a small bowl(4 oz or less) of oatmeal with Stevia sweetner and lowfat skim milk (or 1-2%) for breakfast and midmorning Protein shake or lowfat greek yogurt. Best wishes

the sugar free double chocolate pudding. mmmmmm Also freeze a chocolate Protein shake in tupper ware popsicle molds for a treat at night. Use 1-2% milk with shake mix so there's more of a good taste after it;s frozen. Best wishes

What time of day do you exercise and why ?
Rojasanoll replied to HealthyNewMe's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I usually exercise on the weekends only, but usually long day walks where I jog, slow down walk, then jog again in spurts. Some nights I use my stretch bands for muscle toning exercises while watching tv, but not often. I just wish I was an exercise person but I've never been. I have to offset with the foods I eat. I do know that exercise is the key to making the band really efficient in weight loss and in control. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
55 pounds down!
Rojasanoll replied to nicolelmartinez's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thats a bunch of weight. Better than gaining weight and a good amount monthly to lose. Nice and slow, 4-6 pounds a month is great. Gets the body in a nice rhythm, not too much weight loss but just right over many months. This is what most doctors want us to do. We learn about what we can eat and make better choices, most of the time. Congratulations! Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
Our bands definitely send out a warning that a stuck is near, we just have to feel and listen to this warning. Been there a few times and its not any fun to stare at your food when this happens.

I'm going walking and I'm a foodaholic.
Rojasanoll replied to gowalking's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
We are all like this, wanting this and wanting that. Unfortunately, the band only works on our stomach and not our brain. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
a better quality of life for me with the band. I have more energy and with lighter weight better motivation to do things with others. Haven't found a "con" so far. All things have been tweaked by me for the band. I let the band dictate to me Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

Any cavemen/paleo diet followers?
Rojasanoll replied to desertpixie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm just eating healthy foods. I'm eliminating mostly high content carbs & startches. I've stayed on lots of Soups for dinner rather than steak & other products that are heavy items. Some fresh fruit is used 3 times a week or so. I'm just picking better foods. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -

Is your weight loss surgeon morbidly obese?
Rojasanoll replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor is very slender. -
I would ideally like to lose half my weight
Rojasanoll replied to Wendydarling19's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, I would love to lose half my starting weight. I'm down over a 100 pounds since Aug 2012 and holding. The last several weeks has been slow but due to the holidays and time off from work, plus sickness I haven't had an opportunity to exercise very much. That's the key to weight control. You must exercise some to have effective weight loss over a longer period of time. I wish I was more of an exercise person. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -
I also haven't had that many fills and they have been spaced apart by my doctor. He wants me to adapt and learn from the band. He is the type of doctor that doesn't rush into losing weight. He wants a gradual loss over a longer period of time. Sometimes its frustrating to me and I think it's been way too long between fills and I expected them closer. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

I use the lowfat lowcal canned fruit that I wash the sugars out of the fruit. They come with skinless grapes.

I ordered an exercise bike
Rojasanoll replied to MzEboni912's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations. I wish I used my bike more. A few more miles would help.
