Lost 104 pounds and...
Rojasanoll replied to AnnetteT's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations! -
You should be able to drink Protein shakes. If not sure, contact your doctor. I did SF Jello and several SF popsicles to curb my hunger. I had to go 18 days after post-op. You can will yourself to do this. YOU will succeed! Best Wishes

You have made the right decision. You are here because the diets in the past didn't work. The band will only assist you and not work a miracle. You still have to work at it but there has been more success stories here on this forum. Just ask around and almost all will say they should have done this long ago. Best wishes

surgery is tomorrow.
Rojasanoll replied to zburdeshaw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations. Your special day is so close now. After surgery, take pain meds on time, SIp the Water and anything you are not sure about, contact your doctor. Best Wishes -
Welcome to our team! Prayers for a quick and speedy recovery. Please follow doctors directions. If not sure, Call the doctor. If you were given pain meds take them as directed for the first 2-3 days. Even if you dont have much pain and at night before bedtime. This may help you get a good nights rest. Use NO Straw in Water. Traps too much air with each SIP. Best wishes

Your surgery is close and Best wishes and prayers. -
Wow! This is amazing to me. I didn't know we could eat cake on this diet.

Its usually up to us to make the band work correctly. The wrong foods in our mouth and the worse results we obtain.
-
Its always good to ask yoru doctor on how much is in the band. Some doctors during surgery, prefill the band. I asked and found this out.

When i go to their place nearby, I usually order their soup and salad. Very tasty.

Heartburn
Rojasanoll replied to LeanMeanFightinMachine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a bad hiatal hernia and heartburn prior to being Banded on Aug 6, 2012. The doctor also repaired the hernia during band day. Now and then I take a Tums, usually if I eat too much spice. -
Been using the costco Premier shakes since Jul 2012, 1 month prior to lapband on Aug 6. They are very tasty. Put them in the freezer for 55 minutes and they come out like a thick smoothie. 30g of Protein in only 11 oz, with 160 calories and 0 sugar. 18 each for $24.99 in chocolate(my favorite) or vanilla.

Not banded, but looking for someone to talk to
Rojasanoll replied to shanae42's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ask all your questions here? We have people here who have lived most of ther questions and can answer truthfully with their own experiences. Don't be shy, we are all in this, together! Banded on Aug 6, 2012 and the best thing I've ever done, except loving my ten years ago departed wife. Best wishes -
Since my doctor hasn't done a blood followup so far, I'm hoping it's okay. I've never had a sugar problem before the Band, so I don't believe I will have one now since I'm eating better food types, staying with lots of veggies, chicken and many Soups as my main meals. I did Lapband on Aug 6, so I think I'm coming up on a blood test soon. I never crave sweets before, except for sweet ladies. Lol Best wishes

How do you respond to people who say "You're Not big enough to need surgery?"
Rojasanoll replied to dolphintattoo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You Go Girl! This is for YOU! and your good health by being in control of your weight. We can all make excuses and deviate what is really a good choice for all of us. Sometimes we do carry our weight well by the clothes we wear everyday. Wouldn't it be better to be able to wear anything each day and look great? Let Nobody change your mind for you, it's about YOU! Best wishes -
Sugar may destroy your body! Sugar definitely stops a person from burning the calories we eat, and it may assist in you craving additional wrong foods. You may obtain a better and healthy body by eating correctly. Follow your doctor and dietitians rules. You paid for them! Best wishes

Infection with my port..
Rojasanoll replied to lozjacko's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You did the right thing by contacting your doctor. I had one of my incisions turn red on me and I took a picture and send it to the office by cell. They analyzed it and told me to keep it clean with peroxide and a loose bandage for a few days. The incision cleared up and no other issues. The incision was made to assit the doctor in a hiatal hernia repair at same time of the lapband. Best wishes -

Just got banded January 10th
Rojasanoll replied to jayreilly56's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations! I used dried onion in all my broths for an added flavor. It spruced up the broth real well. I used Protein shakes during my liquid part (my dr. approved the shakes, some do not) and it wa sfilling to me. I used the SF popsicles and SF jello's to control the cravings. I drank lots of Water (sips) for 64 oz a day. Hang in there, it gets lots better. Banded on Aug 6, 2012, and a bit over 80 pounds lost. Best wishes
