Nows the time to get back on track. You have gained 10 pounds or so, ask yourself what are you going to do? Do you want to give up and gain all of it back, I think the answer is NO. WE feel better inside our bodies with weight loss, plus the health issues that will increase as we age with heavy weight on our bodies. Check into a swimming pool program, this is excellent exercise for arthritis. It gives good muscle tone development and YOU will lose the weight in a swimming pool. Go 2 or 3 times a week. Your fat will slowly disappear and muscle will return. The more muscle the more calorie burning. This is also excellent in building up leg muscles and should help the arthritis. Best wishes

What do you think Re: liquid diet
Rojasanoll replied to Lionbird's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i've been on 1250-1260 calories each day. My body and brain have adapted to this total quite well. Some days maybe only 900-1000, 2 liquid Protein drinks for Breakfast and lunch, a large bowl of vegetable Soup for dinner with plenty of spices for flavoring. If I know I may eat a bit over my calorie amount ( a special weekend event/function) I tend on Wed to Fri stay tight on 1000 calories or so. This is like a built in treat for the event. Just remember the pain and any suffering in getting ready for the "band". Stay on course and Do it Right! Best wishes and Keep the faith. -
I'm happy to hear you are back on track with weight cointrol. Sorry for your personal loss as I lost my dad on Oct 29, 2012. I know how a person can fall "off-track" for awhile and then hopefully get back on. Pick up some light walking, biking, treadmill. It doesn't have to be miles at a time, just short walks. Work around the house more than usual. Park the car a little further to make you walk. YOU did the surgery for YOU! And You are the only one that can start doing it right! Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

It's probably induced by liquid Protein drinks or any steamed fresh veggies you are eating. Hopefully not the start of gallstones. Check with your family docotr or mentioned it to your lapband office on your next visit. Best wishes

im walking need encouragement
Rojasanoll replied to jenc87's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
WE all know YOU can do this! Put your walking shoes on and go. It doesn't have to be long mileage, many short brusts to increase heart rate and then back down. Instead of using elevator to go to 2nd or 3rd floor, walk the stairs, carefully and slowly. Over time it will get easier when you start dropping the weight. Best wishes -
I'm new, scheduled and excited.

Welcome to all of you. This is a great forum and all your questions can be answered here. Also on Youtube, there are videos on lapband, including surgery procedure. Ask your doctor on a seminar (mandatory to most) any questions you have. If you see a dietitian, ask questions. Prepare yourself and please follow the doctor's orders. There will be a time in the near future, when your friends or loved ones will say, Hey Skinny! They are magical words. Best wishes and Keep the Faith. -

How soon until you can swallow pills??
Rojasanoll replied to NurseKelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After a month I was able to swallow pills and not crush. I used some applesauce to mask off any of the crushed pills taste. -

Is this normal?!
Rojasanoll replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are still healing for many more weeks. Some will lose and lot's will not lose weight. Be patient! It took a long time for you to get in an over weight condition. The weight will start dropping once your swelling goes down, you start moving more with exercise, walking, shopping, etc. Stay on course, sip Water, liquid Protein. Best wishes -
This is the shake that Ive been talking about since before my band date of Aug 6. At costco they are $24.99 for 18 shakes.

I need a moment to vent
Rojasanoll replied to Breezy11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used the mandatory weight reduction seminar to ask most questions to the surgeon. But my dietitian has been most helpful in answering all questions and I see her once a month since my Aug 6 band day. She travels to my city 1 hour away to hold a monthly weight class. She has been extremely helpful. Check with your doctor to see if he schedules Free weight class meetings. There are usually 12-15 people who show up monthly and discuss any topic. Our dietitian gets free samples of low cal/carb Snacks sent to her and she shares the information and snacks with all of us. Best wishes -
What did you tell you family/friends?
Rojasanoll replied to charlibell's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The truth! And why I chose the band. My life was at risk in the near future. -
Not a single piece of candy or any sugar product on Valentine's Day! Yipee, I did it! Best wishes and a very belated Valentine's Day to all of You!

I usually drink 2 Protein shakes a day (for 60gs protein), then I will eat chicken or 4 oz lean meat in a salad or a steamed veggie tray with some angel pasta(oil d herb dressing) to try and stay around 1250-1260 calories a day. I loaded up some celery sticks in a garlic dip the other day as a treat. You will find many ways to slowly wean yourself off the carbs. I'm an ex-Atkins person and it does work. Best wishes

Rojasanoll replied to Myndkandi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor's orders to me, NO water, NO sip, NO rinse of water to swallow! Keep your band full as long as possible. -
