5.8 ccs and im not in green zone
Rojasanoll replied to Blondie638's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 14cc Allergan band with 6.5cc and I'm very close to the zone. I fill up lots faster than I ever did before. Be patient and remember you still have to make the right choices in food selections. The band will not do this for you. And please chew the food many times before swallowing. I had another "stuck" episode recently and it's not any fun. Only time makes it pass. Best wishes -
Hoping to be a lap band candidate soon
Rojasanoll replied to Noki124's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine from start to finish was about 9 weeks long. I hurried up and did all the tests for the surgeon, attended 2 seminars and the shrink MD. Then I started liquid dieting with a salad at dinner 5 weeks prior to a possible lapband date. The rest has been relatively easy. Best wishes -

How do you motivate yourself to exercise???
Rojasanoll replied to sandiburn's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I don't motivate myself, I just do it! Some walking, some exercise, is better than not doing it at all! -
This preop diet is harder than it looks!
Rojasanoll replied to gina418393's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YOU can do it! And you will have to eat liquids for a week or so sfter your surgery. So, you have a long way left. Stay the course OR be fat and unhealthy. WE all have choices! Which one will you choose? Best wishes and Keep the Faith! -
My doctor after every fill wants me on liquids for 24 hours, then I can eat normally. Give the stomach a chance to relax. I have 6.5cc in a 14cc band and for the first time I notice a definite restriction when i eat more than a cup of food or I eat too quickly. I can feel it now. But everybody's body is different in weight loss, what works for some, may not work for you. I really don't know what my green zone is, but I must be very close now. Best wishes

Doctor holding back fills
Rojasanoll replied to ShonnaJB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tweak your calorie intake a bit and play with this amount for 2 months. Go slow, jump from 1000 calories to 1150-1160 and watch and weigh. Mine is tweaked in close to 1250-1260 each day but I do drop a bit and then re-tweak my food intake every now and then. I believe my body gets use to a certain calorie amount so I drop the amount then slowly gain it back to 1250-1260. If you count everything you eat and our careful in truly knowing the portions yo eat, YOU will lose but slowly. It took lots of us a lifetime to gain the weight and now we all want it off, quickly. Slower over a great amount of time is the best way to lose the weight. Best wishes and Keep the faith. -
Best wishes and you will do great during surgery. With a little work from you, YOU can do this!

My doctor told me on my post op visit that he pre-fills most of his bands a bit as to not allow the band to slip any after surgery. Now he is slowed down on big fills and is "tweaking" in towards a final fill for me soon. He wants me to only lose no more than 2 pounds a week so I can continue to eat properly. He doesn't like big losses and if I do this, there is defintely NO fill that visit. I still go to my dietitian's weight support group meeting once each month and we all discuss our weight loss or "gain" for some. I feel that when I am around other people who have similar weight problems I learn from them and share the information and food choices. This has been a great help in my post surgery continuance of weight control. I'm lucky to have the opportunity. Best wishes and Keep the Faith

I know my doctor wants me off Protein shakes for just the protein, but I do a couple of days myself of liquids to allow rest and cleansing of my system. My doctor is old school and wants me to eat my protein amounts not drink them. There is no way I can eat 60-70g of protein daily unless I use my Protein Shakes. He wants me to have a filled feeling all day. No grazing this way. Maybe in 2-3 months I will hit the "100" plateau like some here on this forum. It has slowed down somewhat and I did has a lapse period of maybe too much grazing, so I upped my minutes each week in the exercise department which I hate to do. I'm just not an exercise person. I do lft weights with lots of reps or use my stretch bands every other day for muscle tone and tightening of skin. Best wishes to all and have a great week.

If you had a hernia, sometimes additional small holes are needed for the repair and to get the right angle for repairing.
