New here please share all information !
Rojasanoll replied to jerseygirl35's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You must fullfil all your steps and some only come up once a month or so (seminars) so planning and going to them is very important. I did lot's of my tests/seminars asap including shrink doctor for evaluation. Here on this baord, we have a wide variety of people who have done different surgeries and recommend one over another. They are all good except some choose a different path. All will lead to hopefully longer living, getting healthy and eatring the correct foods. Ask all your questions here. They will surely get answered. Best wishes on upcoming surgery (whenever the date is scheduled). -
Middle of the Back Pain
Rojasanoll replied to JessicaGeiger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Still sounds like some trapped gas inside body cavity. Use your heating pad for 20-30 minutes on your back. I did prior to bedtime and it helped me relax as well. Take any pain meds too get a good nights rest. Best wishes -
3rd Fill and still no restriction :/
Rojasanoll replied to MandySha's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm also on 6.5cc on Allergan 14cc omiform band and I feel some restriction. Each person is totally different and people will respond differently to cc's in a band. Just stay focused and a cup of food each meal. You will do great. Best wishes -

Can anyone feel their band in their stomach?
Rojasanoll replied to jennbrenna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's usually behind the breastbone area which makes it highly unlikely that most of us can feel a band. Unless it's slipped somewhat. I do feel my port bubble off my belly button area. -
My doctor only wants me on liquids for 24 hours after the fill. Check with your doctor. I usually add another 24 hours and go 2 days on liquids after each fill. Then mushy or blended foods. Lots of Soups and some salads, chopped up finely to pass the band opening. Congratulations on the weight loss so far. Yes, I saw the inches first on my clothing then the weight loss. Keep up your graet effort. Best wishes

I went out and purchased a very professional doctor's scale from Amazon. Its not digital but the calibrated sliding weights from yesteryears. Works great! HealthOMeter 402LB (Health O Meter) Physician Balance Beam Scale -
Is this an emergency? Band Slippage.

Wow, gallbladder! My doctor checked and scanned my gallbladder prior to surgery to see if any stones or if it looked abnormal. Guess I was lucky. Good luck on your gallbladder issues. -
Sometimes too much cc's at a time is a big shock to your pouch and there's an adjustment period. Also, my doctor wants me too stay on liquids for 24 hours after each fill. Sometimes I go an extra day or two, staying a bit longer on liquids and then introducing blended/smashed foods for another day or so. If you continue to have this feeling contact your doctor. Best wishes

I don't weigh but i look at the portion I'm about to eat carefully. It has too be good quality food or I don't eat it. I have yet to eat a bag of french fries or any hamburger with bun since Last July 2012, 1 month prior to lapband surgery (aug 6) . I use dto love my hamburgers but I have selected better food types to eat my meals. Soon I will go on liquids for 5-7 days, drinking mostly blended smoothies(a veggie mix n fruit) and Protein shakes as a cleansing tools for me. It helps my mind stablize and get back on a proper track with a better selection of foods. I do this every so many months and it helps me very much. It's not so much a instant weight loss but a reduction of calories and maybe some improper foods that I crave every now and then. I maintain 900-1000 calories during my liquid fast. Best wishes and Keep the faith. Best wishes

Good luck and Best wishes. After surgery do your walks, often. SIP the Water. Get your heating pad ready and have someone available to fill your prescription for pain medicines. And DO take yoru pain meds at least for the first 24 hours to help you sleep even if you have NO pain. You have then available to your needs. Keep in touch after surgery. -
Tips from a newly banded
Rojasanoll replied to ronzo80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You covered it completely. Most of us here have already gone through all the steps but a "refresher course" now and then is good for all of us. Also attending weight reduction meetings post surgery has been helpful to me as well. We discuss eating habits, new vitamins/minerals, snack foods are usually brought in to try from out dietitian. To hear others talk about there issues sometimes resolves your personal issues. We meet once a month in a meeting room in our local hospital. These are all optional and you are not forced to attend. Best wishes -
Congratulations! keep up your good work.

Best wishes and keep the faith. You will be okay. Follow your doctor's directions.

Post surgery recovery sometimes takes lots of weeks to get your swelling down and start feeling good. Be patient! Follow your doctor's orders. -

Compliments are hard to take. Not worthy?
Rojasanoll replied to Suzzie81498's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take all the compliments you can receive and don't worry about them. People are seeing you differently after the band, so just say thank you. Don't let it bother you. You are doing the best thing for yourself. It's not for anybody else. You did the pain suffering surgery day, nobody else did that for you. You can make it happen! Best wishes -
Drinking while eating
Rojasanoll replied to drehn88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At first I followed this practice all the time. But after doing lots of research on the internet and learning that your 4 ounce pouch empties so quickly, water or liquids won't affect the outcome as thought in the past. I find that I don't eat anymore or get hungry faster. Once you are restricted, it doen't make much difference. -
Sometimes the pain meds affect the bowel movements. And for some who take Protein shakes also the same effects. Take a stool softner as well. Drink plenty of liquids and do light walking for circulation. Best wishes
