    Argument with NP over Coffee

It can be very confusing to know what to listen to and what not to listen to. Yes, we have the internet but it makes things even more confusing with all the different opinions. I guess that is why we trust our information will be helpful from the program that we are in. It too has been suggested that there is no alcohol, but I will make that decision when I see fit. We have the doctors and nurses to advise us, but I guess we are able to make our own choices, good or bad, on our own, for what we see fit . Any piece of information can be torn apart, analyzed or discredited. It is up to each of us to take charge of our health.
  2. Good luck to you mugs. You can do it! Keep on keeping on!!!!!!!!!! It will be over before you know it. Keep busy, keep us posted.

    Argument with NP over Coffee

My own personal experience is that decaff coffee has always been on my approved list of liquids, before and after surgery. The caffeine can dehydrate you, so that is why it was suggested that only decaff coffee or tea should be used. Again, that is what MY program states. Have a great day.
  4. Best of luck to you. Do what the doctor says, it can be different in what they require. The common goal is the same, weight loss. From that, you will acquire so many other things. I am just beginning to realize this. Take care and good luck to all of those having surgery this week,

    Feeling discouraged

Getting in the Protein is very important as is fluids. Are you walking or any other exercise? I am a month out from surgery and eat three times a day with two Snacks of protein. I have lost about 30 pounds. Maybe you could try writing down all of your intake of fluids and of food. Maybe you are already doing this, but I just thought I would mention it.God luck to you.
  6. My suggestion is this, keep your eyes and thoughts on the prize. You can do this. It is hard, but anything worth doing is. One day at a time. It will, VERY soon, be over and you will be on to the next challenge. Each one makes you stronger and smarter about what you are doing. Good luck to you. Drink lots of water and keep busy. I am 54 and just had my surgery a month ago. Keep us posted. Onward and forward!
