I started my vitamins over the weekend and I already feel more enerjetic. I had my first protein shake this morning and i have to say it was not bad at all. I mixed the chocolate protein mix with two tablespoons of white chocolate dry pudding added some ice shook in my shake bottle and enjoyed gives me a lil something to look forward to during my 7 days. By the time i know it next tues will be here and i will officially be a sleeve sister! I had my last hoorah today 3 ozs of steak and sone chicken penne and i was very satisfied with my last meal choice before surgery :-)

When my mom had WLS 9 yrs ago she was given a card that was pretty much a pass that should could order off kids menu. All she wohld have to do is show it to waiter and they automatically have to let her order of the kids menu. Does anyone know if they still do this?

That makes a lot of sense...the healtgier foods arent normally on a kids menu so i could see not really using it. I never thought of it in that way. Thanks I think im just feeling so very overwhelmed right now. Surgery is nine days away and my liquid diet starts this Tues. Anxiety has kicked in and im starting to have cold feet...i am not scared of the procedure part i am more scared that even though right now i am trying to think of what i would want as a last meal i cant put my finger on any just one thing that i have to have. But i worry that once i start my liquid diet that all i am going think about is what i should of had...

Im getting more and more anxious for for the day to be here...Im so excited yet nervous too. Any tips on what I really need to have to prepare myself for pains once I make it home?

Really? Oh no... Where can i find a chewable multivitamin that isnt a gummy or gum?

So i went and got all my vitamins (i hope childrens multi chewable vitamin works) but i vould not find the biotene spray. Where do i find this? Ive pretty much got everything i need for hospital bag will be packing it soon to get it over with..

Ok thanks yeah ive seen a lot of ppl talk about the biotene...looks like i will be picking this up this weekend since my surgeey date has been moved to the 7th! I feel like now i have no time to get all i need but it jas to be done clock is ticking away

Im so excited!!! I just got a call from my dr office and they asked if they could move my surgery from Aug 15th to Aug 7th? Uh of course you can!!! Lol she said oh my you have made my day everyone else on scheduled for the 15th were mad as mad can be at me...i told her no way that she just made my day my week actually lol. So now i have 11 days left rather then 19! Whoo hoo!

Aww thanks ladies!! Yeah i start my pre-op diet the 31st :-\ but it will be worth it because i know only great things will follow! Its crazy all the mixed feelings i am having but i am so glad ive made this decision. Well looks like my hubby owes me that steak sooner then what he thought lol Thanks again ladies i will keep you all updated!

My surgery date is Aug 15th so i am 28 days away. I only have to do my liquid diet the week before surgery. I decided i would start preparing myself now and start liquids 3 days on 3 days off all the way up until the week before my surgery. Hopefully this will help to prepare me...and hopefully i will benefit from it and lose a little LBs lol. Good luck to you!

How long after surgery do u have to drink the protein shakes for? Or is it for the rest of my life? Trying to prepare for post op so i want to know if i buy one- two buckets of protein mix will be enough or is it something i will be buying using for the rest of my life?

Wow ok yeah i will definitely go for the sample packs. I am going to Max muscle within the next week to have taste test. They will let you sample anything in the store so i hope it goes well. I am glad to hear i will only have to bear them for so long. Thanks everyone your responses have been really helpful! 28 days to go before i become a sleeve sister!

Thank you all you have all helped me open my eyes a lot more. As far as the HIPPA LAW i was so close to bringing it up to her but didnt, just to stay on good terms. I really am so very proud of having my surgery i know its the best for me and my health. I appreciate all of your advice... There are times i feel like ppl are going to judge me and say im lazy and that i am taking the easy way out but i know that that is absolutely not true if anything this will probably be ten times harder because you have to have strength will power courage and so much more... You women are awesome and i know now in my heart i truly have a support group, thank you!

I spoke to my doctor about in the future wanting to have more kids and they said that it would not be a problem at all. They suggest waiting 12-18 months post-op to conceive so that i give myself time to heal. Any pregnancy stories post-op? I would love to know that it is going to be safe...i am only 23yrs old and i am no way near done having lil ones. I do trust my doctor after all he is a TopDoc for bariatric surgery but i want to hear success stories to ease my anxiety about it.

@Highschoolfigure yes me too...my mirena will be up sept 2013 so my husband and i planned to start trying sometime after that. I want to plan this pregnancy so that i can have another summer baby! I wish you the best!

Hey everyone! My first appt was in March and i just got my surgery date fir Aug 15th! Hang in there it will all be worth it! I guess no insurance company is alike nor are the doctors... I noticed a lot of differences in insurance request just by reading all these post. I too had to go through all the testing and what not and a 3month diet with my nut but i made it! My doctor is Dr Wade Barker of Dallas,TX... Has anyone on here used him? He is a TopDoc of Dallas/Ft.Worth area

I just got my surgery date today for Aug. 15th!!! I am so excited! I start my all liquid diet Aug. 8th (I am so dreading it) :/ Any suggestions to get through my two weeks of all clear liquid diet?

I hear that a lot from people but my doctors office only requires the all liquid diet one week before surgery idk why that is but I am glad that it isnt longer then that...and yes very true. Good luck to you! Keep us updated!

I had my psych eval back in May and i too was completely honest about everything. Although im not too much of a binge eater i have very low self esteem(due to my weight gain). I suffered physical and mental abuse very quite some time from my partner and i yet to get over it not to mention other things in my past. Needless to say she diagnosed me with severe anxiety and depression that very day and after about 5 days of seeing her she called me with my results and said that my depression and anxiety was of the charts and that im so depressed i dont even realize how bad it is. She told me that she realizes it is my past and that she would go ahead and give me the ok for surgery bit wants me to see a psych at the very least once a wk. Dont get discourged because i did and look at me, as of this past Sunday i have been approved for my surgery!!! Greatest news i have received since '07 when i found out i was pregnant... I wish you the very best and remember not to stress on the small things it will all fall in place. Good luck tk you and keep us updated!
