How much weight have you lost?
Mae May replied to MyCosita's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You're not alone there, I often feel discouraged esp when I hear stories of big losses... It's not easy at all or a miracle cure but its all about hanging in there and keep blodding alone... Def feeling a little lost lately but it will get better, I just know it... -

Amazing! -
You would still be healing so just take it slow... It should subside. If it doesnt let your doctor know...
-
Dont stress too much mine came off really quickly aswell... Get it looked at and self manage. Mine got a little infected so I was super anal with cleaning and just looked after it. I changed my strips once every 5 days if they hadnt fallen off until it had fully healed. I also kept it covered until it was healing properly. Just look after it and see your doctor... You'll be fine...

I have lost 35lbs in 8 months... A little slower then most but I'm happy so far... Well worth it... -
Aza like I was saying before Peppermint tea worked with the gas for me I had no pain within 2 days... I agree everyone is different but stick to what your doctor etc say and you will be fine... It's worth it...

Thats good Stacey... Whats the uncomfortable feeling? From the surgery itself? Sore stomach muscles? Bloating? Remember you would still be healing so it will feel strange...
-
Gas pains are usually bloated stomach and pains around your shoulders. Peppermint tea is good for that, I swore by it... Stacey did you say eating too much? Are you on clear fluids still?
-
I was really bloated and sore so I wasnt going to say no to the good drugs in hospital... I have lost 35lbs so far. Slower then a lot of people but my doctor is happy. I struggled to even lost 2lbs before so this is a massive step. Wow I can imagine have the 2 little ones is hard, I couldnt sleep for a few days so I dont know how your going and I had my husband to look after me... Maybe I'm just a bit of a sook tho...? lol My big incision got a bit infected aswell so it took a little longer to heal. Being diabetic aswell things always take a little longer to heal... Keep us updated on your progress...

You went straight back to work? I was in hospital for 2 days and drugged up for a week after that... 15lbs is great! Just make sure you take it easy at work... It really shows how much eating and drinking is a habit eg. big drinks, chewing, portions... I was banded 8 months ago and im still learning...!! Keep up the good work...

Thank you! I found my symptoms got worse as I was getting older too... Not a lot has changed with mine although I think the hair on my face is finally starting to thin out slightly - yay!! Good luck with your band! I think its well worth it at least it was for me...

I was banded as treatment for PCOS, Insulin Resistance and Diabetes... A month ago for the first time in 6 years I ovulated...!! So yes I think this is a great help with PCOS and to be honest need to work more with my band... Havent had huge losses but I feel better for it... When were you diagnosed with PCOS?

I'm a newbie to forum but joined months ago - "about me"
Mae May posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi All, I'm a newbie... I actually joined months ago but today is the first time I have had a good look around... Here's a little "about me"... I suffer from severe PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and Insulin Resistance. I gained 42kg (92lb) before they knew what was happening. Due to late diagnosis I am now also Type 2 diabetic. When I had an appt with my Endocrinologist she suggested a band and i nearly died. I had not ovulated in 5yrs and she thought this would help. After trying diets and failing many times like everyone else I didnt know what to do. The day my husband said he was scared he would lose me to a weight related illness that was enough to push me over the edge. I did a bit of research, saw a few doctors and thought it was worth trying. I would be lying if i wasnt hoping it would help be an easier way to lose weight which in some respects it has been a little bit considering working my butt off before considering a band i never lost a kg! 22nd May 2012 I was banded. I havent lost as much as others and i have lost my mojo. A few weeks ago I got a phone call to find out I have started ovulating again for the first time in 6yrs!!! Ive lost 17kgs with my band (37lb) and feel a lot better. The fact that i may actually be able to have a baby thanks to my band = amazing! So after reading a lot of the forums i have now decided to hit the ground running. Take control of my band and my weight loss and stop trying to find excuses. My goal is to lose at least another 17kgs (37lb) then start trying to have a baby. Why did i have WLS? To live a happy, healthy life with my husband & hopefully one day our children... xxx <3 Mae May <3 P.S - My full story about my battle with PCOS on my profile. -
