I would meet with your surgeon and nutritionist to review what you are eating and for a check up as well to see what might be causing this. -
Congratulations to you! What wonderful news to hear! How are you feeling?

7 Week Post Opt And Struggling To Eat....
N/A replied to DawnyBoca's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I will be glad to hear answers too. I had surgery 9/19 so I am over two months out. The only thing that taste good are things with sharper flavors such as cheese, green olives, pickles, balsamic vinegar for salads, certain vegetables. I don't crave sweets which is good, but the Protein foods taste flavorless. I don't enjoy eating anymore and only do it because we have to eat. I thought I would enjoy meat, but that doesn't appeal either so I have no desire for home cooked meals with meat and definitely not fast food. Running out of ideas aside from vegetables. -
Hope I make this! My three month f/up appt is in early January and the dr wanted me to drop 30 lbs since I saw him last at my two weeks post op appt. That would be 178 but I will take 180! Starting weight: 239 Day of Surgery: 224 Current weight: 190 Christmas goal: 180

September Was Your Progress?
N/A replied to jentheyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery 9/19. Having hair loss. Released to eating regular diet but I've lost interest in food so a bit of a struggle with proteins and fluids. I do enjoy produce such as salads again and vegetables. I really like flavors like green olives, oil/vinegar, spicy flavors and they set well. No cravings for sweets. Fit down one pants size 16 pants from an 18. Total loss: 49 lbs including pre op diet. -

Dr. Eslami has one at Methodist Hospital on the Sacramento/Elk Grove border off Highway 99. -
I don't like it sweet either. I really miss lemon sparkling water. Initially I was able to drink plain water post op but it gradually became very hard (stuck in my throat), so I was drinking vitamin water -the dragonfruit flavor. Didn't care for the other flavors. The texture seemed easier to swallow. But I had to go to ER yesterday for both a kidney stone and a UTI and the urine results came back that I am very dehydrated, which caused part of this. I heard, not sure if it's true, that too much animal protein can also cause kidney stones. Since I'm still on pain meds until I pass this stone, I am drinking plain water but it's still hard.

Is 65 Lbs A Good Hunk Of Weight To Be Down At 5 Months?
N/A replied to stellabug321's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope I've lost that by five months! I'm two months out right now. I am in a second stall so I really hope I can lose that much by five months. Keep up the great work! -
Woke up at 6:00 am and tried to ride it out but the pain increased to being intolerable. I was vomiting due to the pain at least eight times prior and at the hospital and I never get sick that way. There was nothing in my stomach so that wasn't as bad as it could've been. I haven't had a kidney stone episode in 6 or 7 years. When the CAT scan confirmed the stone and urine results indicated how dehydrated I was, the nurse said I had been that way for awhile due to not getting enough fluids. I'm two months post op. Let this be a lesson to me. Spent my Thanksgiving in bed sleeping on prescriptions. And my thank you for this holiday is toradol taking me out of such pain, and a huge reminder to increase my fluids.

Thank you both!!! I was impacted two weeks post op and can't imagine the pain you must have gone through with the combination of both kidney stones and that!!! You must have been miserable! I never vomit and to be honest, before going to the hospital, the only relief my body got, if it could be said, was attempting to pee or when I got sick. I think it was because of my body using pressure in other areas which somewhat relieved the pain. If that makes sense. I don't have a UTI very often and don't typically have the symptoms so I feel for you having that!! Sad as its been to be in bed today, Ive caught up on rest (I work two jobs) and am sooo relieved to be out of pain and will be drinking more!

9/19/12 surgery. Lost 13 in pre-op. Went from 239 to 196 currently so total of 43 lbs at almost 8 weeks out. -
Congratulations!!! Wonderful feeling!
-
Yesterday was my daughter's homecoming and I was so disappointed in the pictures of myself with her, despite 40lb loss in 2 months and one pants size down. I didnt look any differently from pre op pictures and I avoid pictures as much as possible. How many pounds did you lose before it finally showed?

Havent Lost Any Weight In 2 Weeks...
N/A replied to pinktink91024's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At three weeks I hit my first stall which lasted a month and very slowly dropped 8 pounds. I read as much as I could about the stalls here and tried to be patient. That is much harder to deal with. At the end of this first stall, I discovered that I now fit into one pants size down from 18 to a 16, and I went from an XL to a medium in blouse size. On the flip side, once the scale moves again, the relief is a great feeling. Remotivated and I am now released from my doctor to go back to the gym. That should help further with loss of inches and weight loss, and most important, health! -
