They are so good!

Anyone from East Texas? I'm in Lufkin. Had my sleeve done Sunday - June 24.

Water makes me sick, too. I was sleeves on June 24, so is been over 6 months. Lukewarm water isn't as bad, but I have to drink any water pretty slow. Sad!

June Sleevers! Hows It Going?
asalagaj replied to petite-size-me!'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved June 24 and I'm down 19 pounds. Seems slow! I don't know how people get in all the protein. It takes an hour to drink a shake, and then I'm scrambling to get in enough water before lunch! -
Thanks Sleeve Guru! I'll stick to it. I hadn't heard anything about the lactose intolerance until we asked the nurse why we were supposed to do clear liquids. Sounds like it can be avoided.

My doctor prescribed clear liquids for weeks one and two (post-op). Is this normal? He said people sometimes get lactose intollerant for life if they have to much milk at first. Other band to sleevers that I know of did not have this restriction.

Just thought I'd add an update for those who haven't had surgery yet. I did not get to choose where I stayed (Recovery House or Hotel). Neither did anyone else in my group. All of the band to sleeve patients had to stay at the recovery house because we had the NG tube down our noses. The beds are the recovery house are VERY hard. Mostly bunk beds. But it was nice to be able to walk downstairs and watch tv comfortably. Unfortunately, they sent my Mom (guest) to the hotel for the first 2 nights and they never let her know how we were doing. Terrible communication, but very nice people.

I am 4 days out and starving! Dr said no milky drinks during first week or two, but I don't know how long I'll last!
