I asked because someone posted that she had received no aftercare in the hotel and she developed an infection. I am happy to hear you are having a good experience!

I am assuming you meant you ARE resting at the Marriott! Good for you and how encourging! I am scheduled with Dr Garcia at the MI on 8/31. Are you being seen by nurses while at the Marriott? I am so happy for you and I can't wait to get mine done!!

Hey ATLSara, what are your pre op instructions? I started three days ago on my own by eliminatng sugar. Officially I start two weeks prior which is 8/17. My pre op diet is a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and chicken/fish and veggies for dinner. Then three days out I do a bowel prep and liquid only until surgery. I have read some people have a liquid only for weeks prior, I wonder about the difference. Maybe its weight related or simply doctor related?

I am scheduled 8/31 for my sleeve, I decided to stop the sugar now and hopefully that will be partly behind me when I start the pre op diet in a couple of weeks. I am on day two of no sugar (no bad carbs period) and I am having crampy muscles. Is that a possible side effect?

Wow! I didn't think about that. All the more reason to stay off the stuff. I am on day 3 and so far so good.

Echowits, how are you feeling today post surgery? I hope all is well. We are simular in our stories, having about the same starting weight and going to Mexico. Have a good day

Thanks! Cutting out the desserts is my main and first concern. Single and living alone, I had some kind of dessert everyday! I completely stopped dessert, I didn't drink much coffee anyway I have stopped that as well. I am having headaches but my sinus's are causing me fits so it's hard to say what is the cause of them. I will increase my water, starting today, yesterday I had maybe 32 oz. This is my get ready for preop eating plan, to rid myself of the sugar before taking on the real preop diet day 3. (so far so good)

Its not really traveling alone that worries me it's more about the actual surgery. In the states they won't let you have ANY surgery without someone sitting the waiting room. I think it's a little crazy, but thats what we are conditioned to, so this surgery in Mexico deal is a little different.

My preop starts two weeks out, which is two and a half weeks out, I am starting some things on my own. No sugar and then I am starting to walk this weekend. Trying to find a time of day to work in the walking, and trying to wrap my mind around regular exercise.

I am going alone to TJ 8/31 with Dr Garcia. I am hoping to find someone on here with the same date/DR

I am 5 weeks out until surgery but I have decided to give up sugar now so that I don't have the sugar addiction to cope with along with the pressure of the liquid diet. (Notice I didn't say "try to give up" LOL) Yesterday was my first day w/o sugar, and I am talking all bad carbs as well. On to day two ... Any advice on kicking the sugar addiction?

I am having surgery on a Friday, and returning to work the following Wed. I do have a office job and I took less time than that with my laparoscopic hysterectomy so I am sure Ill be fine. I just sent my deposit and booked my flight, I am so ready! This will be the last time I will lose this weight.

Date set ... August 31 in Mexico with Dr Garcia, selfpay of course. Anxious and excited.

I am scheduled! I am having the sleeve surgery with Dr Garcia 8/31 in Tijuana and I have so many questions. What tests pre op and/or post op should be preformed? How many incisions will there be and where will they be placed? Do they leave one of the incisions open? Will there be a drain left in and for how many days? I plan to ask all those questions to my coordinator as well, I just want to make sure I know what is supposed to happen.

I am sure I will, just anxious! LOL Actually I am thinking September but I have no idea if they can get me in that quickly. So tell me, how do you feel? What happened or didn't happen that you wish someone would have told you before surgery? So far what is the worst part? How long was your pre op diet? Sorry, just full of questions.
