Love love dr Garcia and A Lighter Me -
About two months preop i stopped sugar, including pasta, bread and all starch. Plus i stopped caffine and i dud this on my own. My preop diet from my dr was A shake twice a day and then chicken and salad for dinner, for two weeks. Then three days preop clear liquids only. I stuck to it pretty close and never cheated while on liquids. I think it helped prepare me for sure.

I also ate gasx chewable the strips didn't help me

Surgery Through A *lighter Me* And Dr F. Garcia 20
Readytolose2012 replied to muffintop's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Garcia is fantastic! He is very caring and is very proud of his work and his staff. I have never encountered a doctor who is more involved with his work. I had a staff Dr in my room at 10:30 one night talking about their practice and why I choose them over all the other options. Abraham and Eduardo are also more than accommodating, maybe that's the problem and they are spread to thin. I had the very best experience possible, absolutely ZERO regrets here with dr Garcia or A Lighter Me!! -
I am 9 weeks today and I still have tums daily. I remember the saliva and feeling like I was swallowing air. Just eat slow and stop before you feel full. If you eat slow enough you will know when just 1 more bite us 1 bite to many!!

Your weight will fluctuate its normal, go easy on the potatoes. At three weeks I was on puréed food and could hardly eat 1/4 cp of anything besides liquids.

How Much Did You Lose The First Week?

I think most people lose the first week then stall around 2-3 week mark. There is some great info on here about that subject. Normal. -
Surgery Through A *lighter Me* And Dr F. Garcia 20
Readytolose2012 replied to muffintop's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went with dr Garcia and a lighter me and had a fantastic experience. The only pain I had was surgical gas and Abraham and Eduardo couldn't have been more accommodating. It sounds to me like they overbooked and got to busy. The other patients I meet while there were all super and we all exchanged Facebook and contact info. Kudos to all for making my experience a mini vaca! -
I had edamame at 7 weeks with no problem, just remember to eat your protein first

Phones In Mexico
Readytolose2012 replied to ready4newme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was at the MI Doctors hospital w/ dr Garcia in TJ MX. I have a company cell that I couldn't add an international plan to. The hospital had a phone we could use but we were put on a newly opened floor and they had to bring the phone to us. Also the wifi was not available at first. I would suggest you contact your carrier and add a international plan so you don't encounter any problems. Don't forget your text messages I was charged $20 for one text! -
First 2 Weeks Post Op How Much Protein Shake?
Readytolose2012 replied to lindyjpete's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was instructed to get 50-70 grams of Protein and 500-700 calories. I have read on here that you can absorb any more than that. Eventually you will want to stop shakes and get your protein from food but at two weeks its impossible to do that. I was on puréed food at two weeks. About drinking, remember no drinking around meals. I am 8 weeks postop and just now eating meat and no shakes. I fight everyday to get even 40 oz of liquids a day. -

Just Got Back From Surgery With Dr.fernando Garcia
Readytolose2012 replied to Myweightlostjourney's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't know anything about someone trying to sabotage ready for a change, I went with a lighter me and the posts I have made are the truth. My driver and local coordinator took great care if me while I was in mx and they ran errands for my sleeve buddy that was with ready for a change. They also took her everywhere we went without hesitation. They even offered to take her tithe airport because as of 9:00 pm the night before we were to leave she had not confirmed her transportation!
