When Can We Stop Worrying About Leaks And Other Complications?
SleeveNoob replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even after they do a leak test you must still worry. You can bust a staple from eating too early, coughing, all kinds if things for the first 6 Weeks. Once your surgeon puts you on solids I wouldn't worry about it but don't gorge yourself its very very painful I've done it by accident and it will make you think your stomach is gonna explode lol -

Im down 20lbs since my surgery June 25, 2012. Still no energy and i'm getting in about 70-90 grams of protein. I feel lazy and just want to veg on the couch lol I have 3 small kids so i'm constantly in demand of taking care of them but get really frustrated cuz i'm so drained. I walk 3.5 miles every other night but that's all I have energy for. Any advice?
-
Thanks everyone the kids are a lot they are 2, 4, & 5 and keep me on my toes. i'm finding it difficult to have the energy to even take them to the park. I walk my 3.5 miles around 9 pm cuz of the hot weather and it is tough to do but I know if I don't ill have a slower weightloss.

Thank you that's one thing I haven't eaten yet so I will start

Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
SleeveNoob replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is just a way to give advice and a way to judge. There are many judgmental people on here who get snappy at people who struggle. They know its wrong or they know it could hurt them that's why they post on this site. I think people should just answer the questions asked not scold people. I've been scolded on here and it didn't help me all I got were a bunch of people telling me a bunch of crap I already knew. my point is think before you speak. Having the sleeve makes no one on here an expert on everyone else. Advice is fine, informing or trying to teach is fine. But to belittle someone because they struggled and cheated is out of line and makes me not yup even want to use this forum. -
Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
SleeveNoob replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No need to make someone who struggles feel even more ashamed than they already are. Its one think to give advice and another to judge. just because it was so easy for you to follow doesn't mean it is for everyone else. I was eating things I shouldn't on my liquid diet and I don't feel guilty. Your body will tell you what you need to know when you eat something you're not suppose to and you will go through the discomforts and learn what you can and cannot eat. I recommend staying with your diet and not cheat but I bet we are not the only ones who have cheated. Not many people will admit when they have cheated. But reading some of theses responses tick me off cuz it always turns in to omg I can't believe you would risk your life or omg you need counseling. Just cuz you had the sleeve does not make you an expert! Just sayin! -
My surgeon said 6 months post op I could start introducing carbonation in my diet but it has to be caffeine free. I use to drink a ton a day and now after surgery I don't even think about it I couldn't imagine how sweet it would taste.

Anyone eat noodles during their soft good stage? If so how much could you eat and how did it make you feel?
-
I'm aware of the Carb rule and follow my nut advice. It was my first time eating noodles and I eat nothing but protein. My surgeon said it was fine once in awhile. I do not plan on never having carbs if I get all my protein in for the day. My nut said carbs are welcome as long as all protein gets in first. I'm just making sure that Im not over eating them. My weight loss has been very good at this point and that's with having some carbs every day. Just wasn't sure about how noodles worked since it was my first time eating them

I had some top ramen knowing it is bad for me but better then cheating with sweets lol I was able to eat half the pack and felt fine. Kinda worried that I shouldn't be able to eat that much.
