I love myfitnesspal but feel it gives too many calories for exercise. Also you've lost almost 40 lbs pretty fast! Weight loss with the band should be 1-2 lbs per week so you are doing great! It's seems common that most people lose quite a bit pretty quickly and then it tapers off. For me that is where I lost my motivation & got off track. Its so thrilling at first when the scale is so steadily moving down but the trick is to learn to stay motivated when the scale doesn't move & you feel like you are working so hard! I'm still trying to master this! It seems most people vary the calories daily, from 900-1500. I just pretty much do the same thing every day. For me now it's just how life is, not a "diet". You are being too hard ob yourself! You are doing great! :-)

Bahamas Cruise In 6 Weeks, 5 Day Pouch Test

You don't mention if you've been eating your protein first along with veggies. Also myfitnesspal is what got me on track. You may not be aware of how many calories you are actually consuming! Good luck! -
Fage is good. Very tart but good with a little honey. I really like the carb master brand from Kroger- I love the banana & eat it with cereal instead of milk ( I love kashi- honey flax). It is very satisfying.

Fruit is really good for you & not a slider food! Sliders are empty calories! Eat your protein & then by all means enjoy your fruit & veggies!

Good for you for getting back on track! Your attitude is really good- instead of beating yourself up you are doing what's best for you! Way to go! :-)

I sneeze when I'm done! My husband will say "there goes your alarm!". My stomach will also make weird gurgle noises when I'm eating- my friends calls it "the barnyard" Lol! You have to laugh at some of these changes or you'll cry! :-)

My lapband surgeon did the endoscopy. If you are having severe pain, you need to have the fluid out! You'll still have some restriction tho. I felt so awful that having it unfilled was a relief. As long as you don't go crazy you won't gain. Truthfully tho I did go a little crazy & gained 10 but I had all the things I hadn't eaten for 3 years- burritos, pizza, etc. It was fun but I'm back on the band plan no problem! Don't worry- just concentrate on getting healthy again.

It's really not too bad. Yes they remove all the fluid from the band. They used propophyl (sp? The same stuff Michael Jackson used!) on me & it was great. 1 second I was awake & then I was in recovery. My throat didn't hurt & it really went better than I thought it would. They thought I may have a band slip but thankfully I didn't. They did find a hernia, that sutures were coming undone & that I had acid damage in the "pouch" area. 2 months rest with no fluid in the band & I'm much improved. Its best to know what's going on. Good luck & keep us posted.

Christiemr please continue to post & let us know how you are doing! I always enjoy reading your posts & learn a lot from them! I'm 3 years out & have had my fair share of bumps on the road. I always thought I was following the Lap band way but i never seemed to do as well as others. So it's nice to read your posts. Take care & please continue to post!

That happened to me too! I live in the east valley & called around but he has an agreement with the main east valley providers not to take each others patients! I bawled like a baby when I found that out. The thought of seeing Simpson again made me sick! Luckily I shared this with my ob-gyn Dr Gomez, & he recommended David Johnson from Salt River Surgeons. I LOVE dr Johnson! He is the opposite of Simpson. His staff is great & his office is new & nice! It was not a problem to switch at all & the best thing I ever did! 3 years out & I am finally losing weight again. If east valley won't work for you I've heard dr black stone is good too but think she's Scottsdale. Keep me posted on what happens! Good luck.

Wow Doreen! I feel so bad for you. It sounds like you have a lot of negative things happening that are out of your control. It's no wonder you feel hopeless. You sound like you want it to work tho so you have to focus on the things you can control and go from there. I felt like a total failure and couldn't get back on track. Then I found this site. I just read, never posted, for the longest time. I got on my fitness pal to log my food. What an eye opener. It helped me drink water & make sure I was getting enough protein. If you are getting enough protein you won't be so tempted to eat the grand kids Mac & cheese! Set tiny goals. Take small steps. You can do it! Do it so you feel better!

He probably feels like a failure. Even tho he loves you, it's probably hard that you are doing so much better than him. Men are usually competitive! With your twins, even tho the days are long, the years are short and before you know it they'll be more independent & won't require so much work.

I am interested but nothing happens when I push on the profile icon thingy.

Thanks so much for your writing. It brought tears to my eyes! You have a gift and I'm glad you are here to share it!

You may have something stuck. I've had it happen where I'm going along fine and then suddenly something I could always eat starts to cause problems. If you are uncomfortable for more than 2 days you should go see your dr. A tiny unfill may be all you need.

Anyone Have Problems With Sushi Our Oysters?
jrae replied to sharklove82's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I used to be able to eat rice and then out of the blue it got stuck. One if the worst stuck episodes I've ever had! Had to get an unfill for it to pass. It was awful. Now I'm not even tempted!
