  2. Hi all - I just thought I'd share my news ! I went to "boots" today & weighed on the scales... I'm 100 pounds down YEAY !!! I'm chufft to bits ! only 96 to go ! boo hoo lol! :cry Aud x:D
  3. I wonder if any of you have this? When I lie in my bed at night I tend to cough/choke... it feels like its saliva building up at the back of my throat. Chris (My husband) also says I "gurgle" when i'm sleeping too I half thought that it was saliva not getting through the band. I know my band isn't too tight.... because my portion sizes are "meal for 1" size & Can tolerate all foods - I don't have any problems with any foods in small amounts. When this happens I tend to sit upright, and try to sleep that way... but it's a real pain. I end up sliding down the bed again... and it happens all over again! lol I go to bed at about 10pm, and the last drink I have is about 9 ish.. you think I should make it earlier? What ya think? 11. I was wandering around M&S in my lunch break & saw dried fruit... I know it's high in sugar & calories - but it's also tastey lol  I haven't had any post op, because I heard somewhere that bansters are not allowed to have ANY dried fruit because it rehydrates in your stoma & can cause a blockage... is this right? Aud x

    Is what I'm feeling restriction?

Hello there You are feeling restriction. The reason why the food sticks is because the band is doing its job & is stopping the food from going through. sometimes you will only be able to eat 4 or 5 fork fulls & you will be full - your pouch is very small & can only hold a fraction of what it could pre band. This is a whole new learning curve for us.. we have to know that everything is different than before. (thankfully lol). Hope this helpd a wee bit Audrey x

    Gretat's day has arrived!

hmmmm that's a good question! I'm only 7 months out so i'm not too experienced! lol But... I find that keeping the fluids up, stops the gurgling in my lower stomach... It all settles down after a few weeks post op & the gurgling tends to calm down.... except when you eat... then it's like a gurgling in the back of your throat! Can get a little embarassing when you are talking to people ! lol :nervous How are your wounds/stitches etc? you still feeling well? Audrey x

    Do i need another fill?

im from the UK, but I "think" the ready meal sizes are the same??? In the morning I have 1 weetabix or 1 handfull of Cereal with semi skimmed milk lunch I have 2 brown bread with cold meat dinner I have either a "ready meal for one" (mostly manage all of it - but sometimes only 3/4) or 1/2 chicken breast with 2 baby potatoes & a little veg. If I get hungry at night, I have a yoghurt or a tin of Soup. I try to drink as much fluids as possible... that certainly keeps the hunger at bay. Is there a difference between cc & ml ?? Aud x

    Do i need another fill?

2 weeks should probably be enough time as your fill was relatively small. I have 3.75 ml in my band & it's a perfect restriction for me. I know that everyone is different - but it might give you a rough guide as to much much you might need? Have you only got 1cc in your band in total? I know that the more Fluid you have in your band - then even the tinyest amount can make a world of difference. Aud x

    Do i need another fill?

When did you get your fill??? Sorry, I missed your post on Friday I know that fills can sometimes take a week or 2 to kick in.... if its only been a few days - you might need to give it time? When I feel like this on my "slacker" days... I NEED to up my Fluid intake... it really helps... make sure you are drinking enough. The last fill I had took about 2 weeks before it got to this restriction - it's been like this for about 2 months now. It sort of creeped up on me lol ! If it were me, i'd wait a while, give it time to work. Hope this helps a wee bit Audrey x

good on ya! Well done!! YEAY !! Audrey x

    Why?

I think it's really important to take time for you... Time out y'no? I know exactly what you mean about sabotage... i've hit the "self destruct" button too only a few weeks ago... it's so hard. I found that by taking a break, some time out for me... even an our or so a few times a week really helped. It's so easy to get comfortable in our "fat suit" we can hide in it & nobody notices... nobody cares? but when we start losing weight, it can get so scarey... all of the changes in our bodies, how we look, how we feel it's all so different than before. It certainly is a long hard road that we're on.... take your time, take a deep breath, maybe a step back.... you will see that this could possibly be one of the best things that's ever happened to you. I really hope you feel better soon. Audrey x

It's such a scarey thing this isn't it?? I'm glad your friend is feeling better! Audrey x
