Thanks Neek! It's hard when you look at other people's stats. Maybe I just need to get off this forum and just keep focused on my own numbers

Brown Baggin' It At Lunch--Need Help

Hi there. I have dry curd cottage cheese (half to 3/4 cup) with a couple tbsp of salsa almost every work day. It is 22g of protein per half cup and low in calories. I actually like the taste so it works out I too cannot drink protein, makes me nauseous to even smell it. I also like the small tins of Thai chili tuna with a couple crackers (15g of protein), but you're looking for not fish. I take a couple of cheese strings for coffee breaks. Gotta avoid the cakes and cookies.

    What Are Your Carb Limits?

My nutritionist encourages more carbs. But I know other people on here think no carbs is best. I'm just going with my nutritionist, works for me

    Gurgling?

3.5 months out and I still gurgle. Trying to just get used to it, lol. And I'm on a PPI. And gas-x, I only used them the first 5 days or so. Sure would have had so much more discomfort without it. I wonder why some people aren't allowed?

    Hair Loss

Biotin has done nothing for me. Or maybe I'd be more bald? I eat about 55-65g of protein daily. Before surgery I probably ate 20g per day and I had lots of hair. So what gives?

    Hey July Sleevers!

Hey there. I was sleeved July 3rd. Down 37 and 53 to go. I'm slower than the rest of you, don't know why. But hey, at least it's coming off
  15. I'm a couple days away from 3 months and have lost 36, with another 54 to go. I started at 227. Reading these other posts, I'm realizing that apparently I'm a slow loser My goal is to lose at least 5 pounds a month, I just don't want to get disappointed if I don't make my goals.
  16. It never even crossed my mind! Doesn't sound appealing Closest I got was applesauce. There are many other options.

    40 Kilos Or 88 Lbs

Wow, my stats are so similar to yours. I'm 5'2.5" and my surgery was July 3, 2012. My weight at the beginning was 227 and now I'm 193, down 34 I know some lose quicker, but I'm trying to be happy with me. Today I really noticed that "I FEEL GOOD"!!! I have no surgery regrets, but I do have a concern. I feel I can eat more than I should be able to. I can eat 8+ ounces, not always, but sometimes. Then I read that others can only eat 3-4 ounces at a time. What's up with that?!?!

    Hey July Sleevers!

Are you really still on fluids? I'm 9 weeks out now and have been eating regular food for about 6 weeks. I tolerate it well, just in smaller amounts. I tried the protein shakes but just couldn't do any for the taste. I just make sure I get my protein elsewhere And I'm down 30! Woohoo

    Hey July Sleevers!

Typically I like this temp. And I would manage just fine if I either had ac or could drink decently. No, people up here don't typically put ac in. Kinda like putting furnaces in houses in Mexico, lol. I'll stay in my basement all day tomorrow. Or go shopping in an ac'd mall or hang out in a theatre. Kids'll be happy, lol.
  20. SummersGirl

    Hey July Sleevers!

No, no ac as this type of prolonged heat isn't usual where I live. It was 86 here today (30 in celcius), and it's supposed to get hotter all week. I can't imagine your temperatures! I sure hope you have ac! Just remembered I'm supposed to be crushing my meds. I'm sure they are getting caught in the swollen stoma and that's part of my pain. Arghhhh... So much to remember!

    Hey July Sleevers!

So I had the surgery on July 3. Problem is we are in a heat spell and I can hardly drink anything. Sip sip sipping, isn't cutting it. I know I'm dehydrating and I'm worried about it. What I wouldn't do to drink a glass of cold water!!!! If I drink it just sits in my esophagus for a while. The gas is still in my tummy, ouch. And 2 of my incisions are infected. Oh yay. What a day. Am I whining? Yes, I know I am. Sorry. Tomorrow is a new day Althoughy it's supposed to be even hotter
