  1. Hey everyone! I was wondering what everyone is doing to find a doctor back here in the States after being sleeved in Mexico. I have inquired to 2 different doctors and neither are willing to see me. I guess I don't really need one but I was hoping they could put my mind at ease about things. The last one just rudely stated that I should find me a primary care physician to just do lab work when needed. Is this what everyone else is doing? I just transferred to this area with my job so I'm sure I need to get on the ball with that anyway because I'm supposed to have blood work done in 4 weeks. Thanks for any input!

    Too Small

I can understand worrying about that. But I seriously want to be one of those girls people look at and tell to eat a cheeseburger :-)
  3. Me! I'm 4 weeks out and did love it before surgery. Now even when I add crystal light or any flavoring, I still can't drink it. It literally hurts going down. I'm hoping it goes away because I'm scared in the humidity and heat, I'm going to get dehydrated.
  4. That's wonderful! Congrats. What are u eating now? I'm 4 weeks today too
  5. Ready, I haven't called yet. If it doesn't seem better tomorrow then I'm calling them tomorrow. I haven't ever vomited and don't always feel this bad so I don't want to overreact calling the doc. I shouldn't feel that way but I do. I'm beginning to think the chili doesn't agree with my sleeve either. Also, a sleeve buddy of mine has gotten sick and is now in the hospital. I don't think I Abe the bacteria in the colon like her but it does concern me. She couldn't keep anything down, not even water. I definitely don't have that problem. And I think I may be eating too fast or too much.
  6. Thanks MissAwesome. I was thinking about that and I think you're right. Tomorrow I'm trying just for protein shakes and broth again. I can't take the nausea after eating anymore. Today is just a bad day!
  7. No, actually with Dr. Garcia you move to soft foods at 3 weeks. I've eaten egg salad, Wendy's chili, chicken salad in the magic bullet. I seriously hate food now. A saltine cracker has become my favorite thing to eat because it doesn't make me sick.
  8. I had surgery 4 weeks ago today. I know it's early but I didn't think I would be so sick all the time.
  9. Eating actual food forever! I try but every time I eat anything, I feel nauseous. I don't throw up but I would probably feel better if I would. 2 bites and I'm done. It's so frustrating and I don't know what else I can do. I'm not really losing because I can't get any more calories in and I can't get my water down like I'm supposed to because that hurts too. I'm praying I didn't do this to my body all in vain.

    Fair Food

Our state fair is coming up in October and we have chicken on a stick. I'm just telling y'all now that I'm going to try and be good but I might have to taste it! It's just the best thing ever at the fair. I'll steer clear of the free biscuits and honey (so good!), and the funnel cakes and taffy and candy/caramel apples! But the chicken on a stick....I will taste it. It's battered and fried with potatoes and pickles on the stick. Not a thick batter either. Just enough to cover it. Lol I talk all crazy about this and I would probably get sick off 2 bites. But I can dream :-)

    Cravings.

Ok, no need to call anyone on here an idiot. I think she's just asking clarification on what she's feeling and what can happen. She didn't say she was going out to eat this stuff just that she was having cravings. We all do! And if you say you don't have cravings, you aren't being honest. Anyway, we need to be civil on here and have a little more compassion for people that are going through the same thing the rest of us are. If I ask a question and get a response like that, it's going to make me leave the boards and this place is important because I don't know everything. The info I get from everyone here has helped me so much and I don't know if I could have made it this far and still be positive about my decision without it. OP, you are not an idiot! Your cravings are normal but just put them at bay. Get creative with things you can eat now and talk to a nutritionist. There's also tons of recipes around that can help you.
  12. Deb, I'm so sorry you are having regrets. I did for a while but I've able decided it won't do me any good so just go with it. I really am getting better every day. It's sad that I can't drink a whole cup of coffee anymore but at least I'm getting some of it down. I'm the same with the prilosec. I have to take at least 1 a day, sometimes too if the acid is getting really bad. I can eat about 4 spoonfuls of whatever I'm trying. I learned that Wendy's chili goes down good except for the air bubbles I posted about on here. My first day back was yesterday and I'm telling ya now, I needed the 3 weeks off. I could actually handle another 2 weeks! I drank a Protein shake for the first time since surgery and it went down fine. I got in a little over half this morning for Breakfast and that was a huge plus for me. I'm not getting in my Water or protein so I'm expecting to be completely bald by the fall. Oh well, there's only so much I can do and I'm not forcing it or I'll just end up throwing up. The only protein shake I have been able to stomach is the Premier Protein shakes found at Sam's Club. They're already mixed and taste pretty darn good compared to some other mess I tried. I put them in the freezer so they're super cold and then drink with a straw. I know we weren't supposed to use one at first but it's the only way for me to get anything down. They say it isn't a problem as long as it's not bothering me. Why not try that? It may help a little. I'm thinking of making some tuna salad for lunch tomorrow so I'll let you know how that goes down. Hang in there! I keep telling myself it gets better and it really has considering. But oh what I wouldn't give for a salad from Chipotle right about now!
  13. Hi Fellow Sleevers! Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. Ok, it's definitely getting much easier for me to eat but I have a question. Does anyone have an issue where when you eat something you immediately start getting little air bubbles coming up your throat? Maybe it's not air bubbles but that's what it feels like. Hopefully someone understands my description and can help me out! LOL Even though the food is going down much better, it's annoying that I feel like I need to burp immediately but can't.
