Hell, get a couple of videos, and keep it moving at home, if need be. All you need are some weights, a resistance band, and some sneakers. Couple those exercises with walking (briskly), and you will see the results.

How Many Times Did You Make Yourself Sick....
dar1983 replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As for feeling hunger...I have felt real hunger pains a few times (I am 2 months out). It is usually because I didn't eat dinner the night before, and I wake up ravenous. Some nights after my fitness class, I am tired and just can't deal with seeing what I can actually eat, so I settle for a piece of cheese of some melon, and call it a night. I wake up hungry. A few bites of an Atkins protein bar, solved the problem. I HAVE to do better. -
How Many Times Did You Make Yourself Sick....

You are so right about being shocked by how little of something you can eat. A juicy, greasy hamburger was probably my favorite meal. Was. I bought sliders at the grocery store, and looked foward to them. UGH. Not god. Another food item off the list! To answer the original poster, I have eaten too quickly or taken too big a bite, and paid the price. Feels like the food is stuck in my esophagus. I now understand how this sleeve works... -

LMAO!!! I have this thought when I am in a stall, and feeling sorry for myself!

I Never Expected This Pain!
dar1983 replied to smb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was one of the lucky ones...little to no pain after surgery. Never took meds once home. BUT, I have had 4 other stomach surgeries, and I was "owed" a smooth go this time! Seriously, everyone heals at a different pace. At about week 2, I thought I was perfectly healed. I went out to the store, and I was exhausted after 10 mins of walking. It was back to R&R for me! You'll be feeling fine in no time at all. -
AMAZING!

What Are Friends For...no Support
dar1983 replied to evonnrae's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Some people love having someone fatter than them in their life...makes them look good. Your "friend" sounds jealous and petty. Lose her. -
GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH! know this sounds harsh, but this situation calls for a cold hard dose of reality. You are worth ore thatn what this realtionship/marriage is giving you. Please, no kids while you are in turmoil...children deserve so much more from their parents. Take this time to focus on yor health and weight loss. You cannot make/wish/will someone to love you.

Halloween Contest October 31 2012

I LOVE THIS RESPONSE! Yes, this is a place for sharing, venting, questions, cheerleading, etc. But it is also a place for realistic responses and A-D-V-I-C-E. I agree we might all have a weak moment and eat a "bad" food. Then we get over it, and keep it moving. When you ASK FOR ADVICE...BE PREPARED FOR THE TRUTH! I, for one refuse to enable people here, and talk to them like they are children. We're adults who have made an adult decision to get healthy. Sorry, Nacho Cheese Doritos don't qualify as a healthy alternative. BTW: I want to see those chaps! LMAO!!!!

I Can't Wait To Not Have To...
dar1983 replied to BrickHouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
UGH...good one! -
I am 52, and sleeved on July 3rd, 2012. I came through the surgery with flying colors. Didn't even get my pain meds filled for home. I have had 2 c-sections, a triple hernia repair, and a hysterectomy. This paled in comparison in terms of pain, and healing. The biggest adjustment after surgery was learning what I could eat without the food getting "stuck". I am very active, and in the middle of a 10-week boot camp. Down 33 lbs, and feeling good as my clothes get bigger. I just have to learn the art of patience, and be happy with what I have lost so far, and NOT obsessing over the scale. (yeah, right!).

Almost one month after surgery,I enrolled in a 10-week fitness boot camp. It kicks my ass but I feel good when I leave. Find something you like...maybe Zumba if you like to dance. Maybe you can do an aerobics video at your own pace at home.

How To Keep Things From Bouncing While Working Out?
dar1983 replied to kelliecalgary's topic in The Gals' Room
I work out daily, and when I wear athletic shorts, I wear spanks underneath! I bought my sports bras online. Just google it...you'll get lots to choose from. -
Thanks for the encouragement. I was having a weak moment!

I was sleeved July 3, and have had HALF the weight loss you ladies have experienced. Me? Depressed? sigh...
