    Drinking After Vsg

I used to enjoy several cocktails a week before the sleeve. I thought I would mount the loss of Happy Hours in my life. I do drink occasionally, usually a gin and tonic w/lime or chardonnay. I never have more than one-1 12 drinks...sometimes I don't even finish one drink. I simply can't drink more!
  2. Hello, all! I am located on Long Island where we were hit pretty hard by the hurricane. We are going on day 8 without power, and a lot of our grocery stores don't have any perishable items (meats, produce, dairy). This mixed in with the fact that we have no power to cook our own food has led to a disastrous week of eating for me! My meal times are random, I kinda pick and graze when I have access to food, I have only been able to get about half of my daily protein if I'm lucky (again, no meat and no way to cook it, anyway), and we've been living off of the few restaurants that have power...for example, pizza and Chinese. I try to get the healthiest options from those places, but those options are limited. Luckily the gym has been open so I've been hitting that often, but as far as food, it's been so easy to say, "we just had a hurricane, I have no power, few food options, it's fine if I eat (insert carby food here)". I can't wait until things return to normal!

  4. ...basically, I want to shop on the main floor of a department store...not relegated to the basement, in back of housewares...
  5. Hmmm...good question. Th smallest size I wore was as a college student, and that was a 14. I was pretty active, and had a perfectly flat stomach due to thousands and thousands of sit-ups and crunches in physical therapy. That was when I was 18-21. I am currently 52 and at the start of this journey, I was wearing a 24 (22 in some skirts). It is four months later, and I have lost 53lbs, and currently wearing a size 18. I bought a pair of skinny jeans in Old Navy 3 weeks ago (in the regular sizes!) and they are a little saggy in back! My goal is 140lbs. I'm not sure what size I will be wearing then, as I have been fat since I was married 29 years ago. I'm still shocked over being in skinny jeans off the rack! If I make it to single digit sizes...just wow.

    Straws

Other than bottled water, I MUST use straws! I did, however, follow the no-straw rule for a week or so after surgery. I am fine with it.
  7. I used to do this when I was on a liquid diet about 20 years ago. When I mentioned I might do it now, she informed me that its called having an EATING DISORDER! Whatever...

    My Biggest Fear

My biggest fear is not losing the weight/making goal. I was sleeved 4months ago, and have lost 50-53lbs (depending on the scale I use!) . Yeah. I know; be grateful for every pound lost. I am,but I am also so unnerved by the MEGA stalls I have had in these past 4 months. I am damned worried I will never get to goal.

    I Dont Like Food Anymore

I was sleeved July 3rd, and I no longer care or enjoy food. This isn't a complaint; just a fact. As someone above mentioned, I don;t like food, don't care about eating, and no longer cook...unless you call making tuna fish, cooking! I do, however, like the weight and inches lost.

    Closing Account

Ummm, if you want people to read your self-serving drivel, then you should try using paragraphs...easier on the eyes. With regard to your "numbers rant"...whatever...

  14. Insecure? I don't think so...not me! I made my statement based on the comments above. It seemed the issue of cost was more important than some other factors. I certainly realize there is a chance for negligence right here in the U. S. of A.

    Slowed Weight Loss

We have nearly identical weight stats. I was sleeved on July 3, 2012, and I have lost between 50-54 lbs...depending on what day it is, and what scale I am using. I have had a month and a half where I have lost only a couple of pounds, and seem to gain them back! Frustration is my middle name. I have, thank goodness, lost lots of inches, and given away tons of clothes. But what about the pounds????
  16. Discount surgery vs complete medical care....this is a no brainer for me. I will live in spanx for the rest of my life if necessary before I head out of the country to save money.

    Pole Dancing

Thanks for asking,Shayv123. I am having a love-hate relationship with this sleeve. I have lost 52lbs (42 since date of surgery). I feel like I am losing weight exceedingly slowly...its driving me crazy. BUT, I have lost lots of inches, and wearing a size 18 (going to try size 16 tomorrow!)...down from a size 24 in July. So, I am very thankful for that. But I swear, this weight is being VERY stubborn. Ironically, part of the issue is that on some days, I take in way too FEW calories! I am trying to be better about the eating. Because I am soooo damn picky, I have quite a limited list of foods I eat. Anyway, I'm not giving up! And you?
