Hubby Not Supportive Of Fitness Goals

Wow you have a lot going on!!! Now is probably a good time to sit with your husband and maybe re-organize your priorities so that you're both on board and he doesn't feel burdened by the kids. I know that work is important but so is your health and your family. Maybe you could have some early days a couple days of the week. Maybe leave work at 5 or 6 you can get a 1/2 hour workout in straight after work and still make it home by 8? or say you leave the house at 7:30 instead and workout from about 6-6:45am or something. I mean there are ways to make it work but unfortunately you won't be able to have everything you know? LOL! I'm trying to hard to find a good solution for you because I know how "relaxing" a workout can be. It's the only time I have to myself and although it can suck, I enjoy that "me" time.

    I Need Diet Help Please!

Have you tried starting over? I've read stories where people "reset" their band by going through the phases again and some have said it worked for them. To simplify things for myself I'm doing the special K diet using their Protein plus Cereal. 10g of protein, 14g of Carbs and 100 calories per 3/4 cup of cereal. This is my first day trying it and the cereal is very filling once you add milk. It keeps me full for 3-4 hours.

    Bad Situation! :(

I think you need to tell her and the two of you can hang out before her birthday and you can also make it your "last meal" and her pre-birthday celebration at the same time. If she's truly your best friend then you will still be friends before her birthday, on her birthday and after she has left.

Hubby Not Supportive Of Fitness Goals

What are your early mornings looking like? I'm not sure what time your gym opens but you can do 2 days per week early morning at the gym AND keep your current 3 day per week schedule. On your early morning days you can try to get to bed a little earlier so waking up is not so diffuclt althought it still can be tough. I work out in the AM only and I've found it to be the most least interrupting time to workout for me. No one is usually in crisis at 4am or 5am for that matter. If mornings aren't an option then hop on Craigslist or ask around for an old television. The old box televisions still connect to gaming systems and they are relatively cheap. Also sites like gamefly.com are like the netflix for video games and you can get that zumba game for a very decent price. You can also hook that gaming system up by yourself. It's not hard.

104Lbs? You Should Be Losing That In Like 4 Months.

I'm sorry if this is offensive, but he sounds like an insecure d**k. I'm sorry to say but it sounds like you are on your on (physically) but virtually you have support!! Good luck and check in often.
  7. I would think if you're paying yourself after completing all the required testing, you could be banded right away.

    Random Thought

Yes I was banded in May. Like I was telling someone else I have greater issues with food than I realized so no matter the weightloss tool; diets, pills, surgery, etc I still find that food is my issue and I don't have the means/resources to get help with that right now. I know my feelings are negative however they aren't meant to discourage anyone, it's just a personal battle that I'm still fighting and one that I can't fix on my own.

Need To Know If This Is Normal.

I don't think you're getting enough calories. From what I understand your body will hold onto weight if it doesn't have enough calories to burn so that could be the issue.
  10. Try eatin the squash without the bread on it and see if that works. If you're hell bent on having it then you have to chew, chew, chew and chew some more. It should be the consistency of paste when you finally swallow. If you feel you are chewing properly, then perhaps you are over filled and should talk to your doctor.
  11. I get shoulder pain when I eat too much

    Baltimore?

Who was your doctor? I was banded at GBMC as well by Dr. Liao

    Random Thought

Not to be all Debbie Downish, but I kept my WLS a secret because it's not working for me and in the long-term I don't feel it will work for me. I'm just focusing on loving my fat body the way it is but I don't have dreams of size 8 clothing anymore like when I first started doing research on the subject. I wish everyone the best of luck with their surgeries and I hope you're able to meet your goals. :-)

    Band-It No More

I'm sorry to hear that. Just try to stick to a healthy diet as closely as possible to help with healing and your weightloss. I think you will be alright but it will be tough for the moment. Good luck!

LMMFAO!!! Yes!! I do stuff like that all the time. *guilty*

    Minimum Calories?

I really don't count calories. I just try to get the required amount of protein and stick to portion sizes. I use the 3 meals and 2 snacks plan trying to eat about every 3-4 hours. Even when I eat bad foods I still make sure to eat the portion size of about 1/2 cup.

    May Bandsters!

I was banded May 25th, started at 255 and now I'm at 234lbs. Just had my second fill this past Friday and I'm hoping by my next appointment at the end of August I will weigh 220lbs.

    Dear Self

Do you have any restriction at all? Try starting over on liquids to "reset" the band and start your journey all over again. It's unfortunate that things worked out the way it did, but you can't be too hard on yourself. The best thing about a second chance is that you know where you messed up the first time and you have the opportunity not to make the same mistakes again. As far as buying food goes, get on a budget and grab a grocery list. If you don't control what you spend on food it WILL be expensive. I wish you all the best of luck and again, please don't be so hard on yourself. Just do it right this time around.
  22. I don't think they have a good explanation as to what the band does. Let them know that you struggle with feeling full after meals and that's where the band is going to help you or <insert reason you selected the band> Not that you owe them an explanation but those who never considered the option, probably don't know a whole lot about it. After you've give them a background on what it is, let them know that you don't wish to discuss your surgery with them anymore because you feel as if they aren't being supportive and you don't want to ruin your relationship with them. If they can't move past giving you horrible advice, then leave them alone. You have enough weight to lose and dead end relationships = emotional weight... lose that too. Good luck with your pre-op diet and surgery!

    Juicing?

With greens like kale or spinach I wash them with a small amount of antibacterial soap. Dish soap or hand soap...Not a lot but just a little and I rinse them really really really well. With apples or carrots I just rinse in water.

For Anyone Debating To Convert To Sleeve

I'm glad the sleeve is working for you but the lapband, from my understanding isn't designed to provide rapid weight loss. It's supposed to be a slow process 3-5lbs per week.
  25. LoozQuoils

    Baltimore?

I like in Perry Hall (Close to WhiteMarsh) and I was banded on May 25th. I will have my second fill in about a week or so.
