    After Fill

I have my first full tomorrow. My dr must be really conservative, here is my diet: First week - Clear Liquids ( Jello is included) Second week - Protein shakes and puréed foods Third week - soft solids/mushies Fourth week - regular diet Then I would be back for another fill.,.
  2. I am ones month post op and also had the hiatal hernia repair and stil feel constan pressure in my chest. I also have tightness in my throat. I called the dr's office last week and the PA told me that the more weight I lose will give the lapband more room and I should feel less or no pressure at all soon. She also told me to call this week if the feeling remains the same. But, I have lost 27 pounds and still feel the same. I have my first fill Thurs so I will discuss it then but just wondering if anyone has any opinions or similar experiences? Thanks!!

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

Love ff refried beans and add a lil low fat shredded cheese and low fat sour cream on them! So far it is my fav meal. I also substitute the sour cream for ff cream cheese and heat it up all together, it is delish!
  4. I don't have the sharp pain that you experienced but feel sore in that area, too. I also try to wear my pants under the port area and wear nightgowns when home. If we feel the same way then I am sure it is part of the healing process. I am wondering if we will always feel that we have something in our stomached? Does that feeling ever go away?
  5. I need suggestions on the best way of what to mix crushed pills in? I am still on liquids and have been mixing it in jello but feel like throwing up everytime I have to tAke them.

    Need Help With Protein Shakes

Thanks so much for sharing! The responses have definitely steered me in the right direction. I am looking forward to start taste testing.
  7. Is there a consensus out there on what is the best tasting and best Protein shake available for both the ready made ones and the powder mixes? Also, for my Stage 2 Diet (Week 2) it says to add Protein Powder to all low protein liquids. Could anyone suggest what protein powder they use? Lastly, does it matter if I make my shakes with skim milk or should it be with only Water or ice? Thanks!

    Crushing Pills ?

My next question is can I swallow Ambien or do I also need to crush it? I asked today and was told that I can swallow my birth control pill and stared at the pill ten minutes before I was ready to take on the challenge. But, I was able to do it. I should have brought the Ambien with me today...they are also small in size but oval. Any opinions???
  9. It is amazing what 2 days makes! I honestly did not think I would be feeling progressively better each day but it does really happen. I am still uncomfortable and cannot sleep on my side but have improved a lot over these two days. When I went to the dr today (I saw the P.A. though) she told me that I could start to exercise and not to lift more than 25 pounds. I feel that I am now where ready for that and will stick to walking as exercise especially with the hernia repair. But, I know that I baby myself when I have an injury and maybe it takes me longer to heal. I also stopped the pain meds at day 5 and are better off without them.
  10. So happy we all made it to a week and I hope we are all feeling better each day! I know that all doctors are different but I was on a clear liquid diet only and could only have a few sips of Isopure, if needed. Today, I met with the P.A. and she told me that I should have had Isopure over the last couple of days. I am not that bummed but was really lightheaded and had no energy. But, I did lose a total of 15 pounds. I now want to compare my Week 2 Diet to others others out there...

Thanks for your replies, I was hoping that there was a magical solution to make it easier. I may try coffee since it has a stronger taste.

I have a question regarding vitamins: how soon after surgery do I start taking them? This is only my 2nd day post-op. Thanks!
