Pictures 12 Weeks Post Op
jennlhp replied to sarahr0's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! You look great! I'm coming up on scheduling my surgery, but I am scared to death. I hope I don't chicken out. Stories like yours are the ones that give me hope to do this. Congrats again! You look fabulous! -

You all are awesome! Great advice! That's exactly what's happening. I'm reading to much! I spoke to the nurse a little bit ago, who told me to stop reading. I think I might take that advice.

That's exactly what's happening. I'm scared to death now since joining this blog. I have no clue what to do. I've been approved by my insurance co, and I'm ready to go. Now I'm the one pulling back. I wish I had a crystal ball to see if I come through with no issues. I'm healthy other than being fat. I have 90 pounds to lose. I know I need the surgery to help me, but I'm terrified! My surgeon is the best in FL, so that's not the issue either. I need help!

Well, after countless hours and days, I've decided NOT to go through with the VSG. I'm healthy at 90 pounds over weight. I will do everything I can to lose these 90 pounds the natural way. I will be meeting with a weight behaviorist to get help with my addiction called food. That combined with weight watchers will hopefully be what I need to succeed. I just wanted to thank everyone on this site who helped me make an informed decision based on what was best for ME. I wish everyone much success with which ever road they chose on this weight loss journey!!

I hear ya! I need to be held accountable. From what I've been told, WW works. The only thing that stinks is that its a slower weight loss, but it stays off for most.

Hello everyone! I'm stuck! I don't know if I should have the VSG. I was so excited a month ago before I joined this blog. Now I'm just scared! I thought it was going to be a lot easier than what I've been reading. I've been having total anxiety over this decision. I have 90 pounds to be at my ideal weight. I am healthy other than being obese. I don't want to acquire new issues from having the surgery. I am also scared to death of the hair loss. My hair is super thin as it is. It fell out after I had my daughter and barely grew back. I will be almost bald if I lose any more hair. So between the hair loss side effect and reading this blog, I'm wondering what in the world to do. I'm tentatively scheduled for August. Help!!
-
Thank you for your support. I've decided I will try to lose the weight on my own. I joined weight watchers last night. I hope the meetings will help. It's a great group of people. I wish u all the best of luck and continued weight loss and health!

You are so right. I was looking for the easy way out. Nothing about this surgery seams easy. You hit the nail on the head, and I appreciate your comment.
-
That's great to hear! I'm scheduled in august and I am scared to death. I'm not sure what to do

Is there anyone out there who didn't have any issues after surgery? I'm reading so many bad experiences that I'm at the point of chickening out. Not sure if reading this site was a good idea for me, as I am more scared now than I was before. Not sure what I am going to do.
-
Thank you all. You guys are awesome!!
-
Thanks all! I just don't want to end up worse off. Other than needing to lose 90lbs I'm healthy. My surgeon made it sound like a piece of cake ( no pun intended). I know it will hurt and I will be sore, but there are so many people in here for weeks out that can't even take a sip of water without throwing up. That just seems crazy to me.

3 Days Post Op And Feeling Low Help!

Had 3 c-sections that were awful. Can anyone tell me based on their experience if the c-section is more painful than the VSG? Just curious what I can compare it to. I had my gallbladder out 4 years ago, and that hurt much much less than a c-section.

Any Regrets?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm scheduled for sometime in August too and have the same fear. I don't want to have the surgery then after say to myself "why couldn't I just eat less and do it the natural way". There are so many not so good stories on this site and that scares me a lot!! Other than being 90 pounds over weight, I'm healthy. I don't want to acquire problems from the surgery. I originally thought I would have the surgery, I would heal, eat less, lose weight, and have a great new life. From what I'm reading, it's like a battle to be normal again and that scares me!!!! I'm really on the fence. I was really gung how before I joined this site. Now, not so much. I don't know what to do, -
Yay!! I love the happy endings!! Thank you all for letting me know the outcomes are not all terribly awful.
-
Good to hear from many of you that it is bearable compared to the c-section. I am now excited again, as I was so scared from many other posts I was ready to chicken out. I had 17 staples with my sections so I really couldn't imagine the VSG being worse.
-
You ladies are great! I feel better already. My c-sections were rough, so i am glad to hear this surgery is easier. My kids are older now at 8, 10, and 13, so I know they will be helping me. My husband is great support, but he's Netvous about me doing this. I have 90 pounds to get to my ideal "normal" weight. I gained weight with my first child, never lost the weight and kept on gaining from there. Diets do not work for me. I need this tool. From your posts, I believe I am making the right choice. I'm trying not to read the negative posts, but I can't help it. Hopefully when my surgery is over, I will have a positive experience to tell!!

You ladies are great! I feel better already. My 3 c-sections were awful, plus as you kno

I really appreciate all of your feedback. It's nice to see normal stories vs the horror stories I am reading. I know it's going to hurt, but so many are making it seem so awful.
-
Thank you both for the info. I started having some doubts as so many if these threads are misery stories. I was thinking what was I about to do to myself. Originally my mind was set that I would have the surgery, heal and move on. Just as I did with the c sections and gall bladder. But reading some people's stories I'm scared to death now.

Just curious to know if any of you have used Dr. Perez in Ft Lauderdale (US Bariatrics). I would like to know your post of experience, or your overall experience as well.
