I'm a Canadian girl who met her soulmate online. Moved to Australia in 2002 and will be married for 10 yrs this year 2012. I'm at my highest weight ever and can't believe I let it get this far.
I have always had weight problems and have tried various diets that work for a while and then I get off track. I was on track in 2010 with diet and exercise and then started having pain in my heels. Could not exercise anymore due to pain and have found out in 2011 I have arthritis. I am finally on a new medication and pain relief that is helping the pain somewhat but since it all happened I lost my focus and became sad and frustrated due to the pain. Food has always been a comfort for me or I graze.
I do have high blood pressure and that is controlled with pills. I wanted to get the surgery early 2012, but endec up in hospital New Years day finding out I had extensive bilateral pulmonary embolism. So have been on warfarin for 6months and now I am finally off it. My lungs are good. I do have mild asthma and have a puffer. Am going to be going for a sleep study to find out if I have sleep apnoea.
I've been off track too long and don't want any more health issues. So I went to the information session and then seen the Dr and booked my surgery for October. I am nervous and excited about it. I have a friend who had it done and I see results with her. I understand it's a lifestyle change and I am ready for that now. I have a very supportive husband and family behind me.
I want to be able to also get back into some exercise. I have to be careful due to my heels. I tried hydrotherapy but the chlorine affected my skin. Could of been just that place, so I want to try another place to try aqua aerobics. I have to pick certain times as I work night shift in hospital.
I found this site and thought I would join to get advice or to read some of your stories to give me strength when I need it.
My goal is to reach a comfortable weight and to feel healthier. I want to get into some great looking clothes again.
On with the journey....One day at a time...
