December sleevers !
Heather86 :o) replied to dromo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Highest weight was 277. Surgery day, 12/10/12, weighed 235. Weight now, 203. Down a total of 74 lbs, 32 lost since surgery. -
I was sleeved on 12/10/12 and just recently have discovered that I have to remind myself that I have to eat. Before recently, I was "so hungry" and wanted to eat every thing I saw. I didn't, of course, and have come to realize that I had a huge case of head hunger. So glad to be over it now, but it is weird how different it is compared to my life pre-op.

I get that nagging feeling randomly and talk to my husband about it. He always helps me put things into perspective and it quickly passes. My hair has started falling out more dramatically lately. Hopefully that slows down soon, since I almost always get my protein in. Congratulations on your 43 lbs lost, that's awesome!

That is kind of sucky... however, keep the long term in mind and maybe that will help you get through this. Next year, you should be able to have a little of whatever you want! We all have days like this...we're only human. Good luck!

Has anybody else had this happen?

I agree, completely. -
Has anybody else had this happen?
Heather86 :o) posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday, I drank 12 cups of Water, ate 3 meals and had 2 Snacks, like I'm supposed to. I didn't have any problem getting anything down and felt really good. Today, is a completely different story. I still feel OK, physically, yet I can't eat much. I can only get down about a 3rd of what I ate per meal/snack yesterday. I'm still working on my 2nd cup of water for the day...it just isn't going down very good and I'm getting full, very quickly. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I don't guess...it's just weird to me. Has anyone else had this happen? Do you know why? Can anyone offer any insight into my situation? Thanks in advance! -

My Dr. has said no carbonation, ever. I'm OK with that, but I was never a big soda drinker anyway. Good luck!

Protein Shots
Heather86 :o) replied to ready4anume's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't found one that uses whey Protein yet... all the ones I have seen use collagen. O.T.R. Sleever is a good person to ask about this if you see him around. -
Where and who did your surgery?
Heather86 :o) replied to danyellhoweth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. Ehab Akkary did mine at Preston Memorial in Kingwood, WV. He is a wonderful surgeon with an awesome bedside manner. I'm so happy he did my surgery and speak highly of him every chance I get, lol. I'm 7 weeks out today! -
So.. I'm almost 7 weeks out and I need advice!
Heather86 :o) posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like the title says, tomorrow I will be 7 weeks out. I had my surgery on December 10th. I am having trouble finding foods to eat that are higher Protein, but still have lower Carb and fat content. Can any of you recommend what your favorite things have been post-op? I've been doing Greek yogurt, chicken breast and egg whites a lot, so hopefully someone has some other suggestions for me. I appreciate any insight you can give me! Thanks in advance! Eta: if anyone would be willing to share their typical day's menu, that would be awesome! Thanks again. -

You are a very lucky lady to have someone who cares so much about you! I'm glad you are having such a wonderful recovery... good luck on your weight loss journey. -
I had lumps under my largest incision, but they went away a few weeks after surgery. I didn't have anything blister-like... please call your dr tomorrow, if they don't resolve. Good luck.

How do you season it? I've never had it before, but I'm interested in trying it. -

Is this like sushi? I seem to have a lifelong seafood aversion. -

I do like to cook, but would also like some fast options, if anyone knows of any. I have this blog bookmarked on my phone for reference. She has a lot of ideas/recipes that I want to try. -
