I just stared my two week liquid diet. When I am tempted to eat, I just think about what the end result will be after surgery! Stay strong. You can do it. -
Is Jamba Juice okay to drink post surgery, on occasion?

Good luck with surgery tomorrow! Keep me posted on your progress. Thanks. Christi -
Thank you! I was worried there would be too much natural sugar and give me dumping syndrome. Christi

Sometimes the iron will make your stool black, but if it just started and you have been on the iron for a while, it may not be that. -
My daughter has problems with leftover meat. It gets too dry and hard.

Are you taking iron supplements? Iron can make your stool black as well. -

My daughter had surgery on her leg a few years ago and has residual nerve pain. Nothing to worry about, just annoying. She scratches her leg and feels it in her toe! You can try massaging the area and that may help some. -
Implanon is what my daughter had put in her arm. No complaints, no issues.

Chronic nausea and other issues

My daughter had the same type of nausea symptoms after her lapband and it ended up being gall bladder. They have checked your gall bladder? -
My daughter got a rod placed in her arm. She loves it with no side effects.

I agree. Go for it. That way when your baby is born, all three of you will be starting a new life together.

Bward, your weight loss is amazing after 23 days! What was your starting weight if you don't mind me asking. My surgery should be scheduled for the end of the month. -
Help, insurance problem :(
Butterfly66 replied to thaskett's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did Tricare tell you why your visits would not be covered? That doesn't sound right. My insurance required six consecutive months of doctor visits to discuss diet, exercise, portion control, etc. and document my weight, but they were covered with just a co-pay required per visit. I know Tricare also requires the six month visits as my kids are covered under Tricare. My suggestion is to make a doctor appointment every month for something separate, but weight related (tired, sluggish, stomach problems, trouble sleeping, etc.) and discuss diet and exercise while you are there. That way you will only have to pay the co-pay. Just a thought. -
That's good to know. Thank you so much. How long were you off work after surgery?
-
I haven't had surgery yet, but in anticipation of life afterward, has anyone had issues with loose bowels or other embarrassing gas, bowel issues long term post surgery? Thanks.
-
Out of curiosity, I would like to know what kind of requirements you had to meet to get insurance approval. Six months of visits with doctor? 15 pound weight loss? Has anyone been approved without those things or with fewer visits? Weight loss history longer than 6 months prior to surgery, etc. Thanks. I am submitting my paperwork tomorrow and am anxious about approval.

Hi. Our stories sound so similar. I am 5'2" and was 300 at my heaviest. I spent two years exercising 6 times a week and eating next to nothing and starved myself to 190. Once I hit that brick wall, I tried to get approved for surgery, but I didn't weight enough! Now I am back to 230 and am going for my last dr. visit to get approved. Even without sleep apnea, it sounds like you are a good candidate. What insurance do you carry? Christi

Bmi After Required Dr. Visits And 15 Pound Weight Loss
Butterfly66 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your BMI is above 40 before the insurance required 15 pound weight loss, can your BMI be below 40 after weight loss and still get approved?
