It's my band day! I am actually sitting in the clinic while I type this, I brought my laptop because I have to spend the night. I also brought a few DVD's with me to watch tonight. They are running a little late, I was suppose to go in at 2:30 so it will probably be closer to 3:00. I am very jelous about Bandedme eating filet last noght, all I get is yogurt and cottage cheese, yuk! Okay, better go, wish me luck. Dave -

Less then 24 hours and I will be banded, tick, tick, tick tick... Are you ready Alex R.? Good luck to everyone! Dave -
I am a cancer survivor, there is a very good chance that i will develop another tumor within the next year which could require me to have additional surgery and treatments such as Chemo or Radiation. Am I crazy for having the band installed now? I know I can get a de-fill so I can eat more when I would need to during treatments but is cancer and the band a good mix? Anyone out there have the band and are fighting cancer? Dave

What a horible pre-op diet, Yogurt and Cottage cheese. :bolt: I don't think I can do it. I mean what is the reasoning behind Yogart and Cottage Cheese. Yes I understand I have to loose weight but I just can't do this diet. I have modified my diet to be more of a weight watcher diet with some yogurt and cottage chees, do you think I will get in trouble or be rejected for the proceedure? I am loosing weight just not on TLBC diet. Good for you Alex for staying on program! Dave

Hello everyone, can anyone help me with a quick question. I am scheduled for surgery on April 5th and I have a meeting booked in Dallas on April 10th. Toronto to Dallas flight. Will I have any problems flying this quickly after surgery? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Fear of Flying
daveintoronto replied to daveintoronto's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys, I will ask my surgeon but you make a great point Barbara, anyone who travells to have the surgery done needs to fly shortly after surgery. I feel better. Thanks -
Hi Donna, not to far at all. Take your time and check around. Come in and meet with them for a consult before you decide. I was actually going to do this when I was in England last year but the timing did not work out. It took me two years to get to this point so it sounds like you are perfectly normal.

Hi Rosi, thanks for sharing your experience, it make me more confident that I have made the correct decision. I am hoping to actually meet Alex on April 5th at TLBC. It would be nice to put a face with a name. Maybe we can then get together for coffee and share our deepest worries and concerns... Na, to girly, maybe the occasional e-mail, lol!

I am finally booked. I have been investigating the Lap Band for over two years now but now I am finally booked. I have my band installed April 5th in Toronto at TLBC. I am nervous yet confident that this will work. I am glad I found this forum, I have read some great advice already. The recipes will really help. Wish me luck. Thanks Dave

Hey Dakota, way to go with the pants, it makes it all worth while doesn't it? Welcome Big Jake, you are going to have to think of a new nick-name once you get banded, maybe slim or just plain old Jake! Good luck

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Hello everyone and thanks for the words of encouragment. I am having trouble with this Yogurt and Cottage Cheese diet that TLBC has me on. Cottage Cheese reminds me of many fialed diets and well yogurt is yogurt, either you like it or you don't. I have actually lost about 10 pounds over the last couple of weeks due to a virus so all that should count towards my preperations, right? I will figure something out, I always do. I really want to do this, I have been thinking about it for two years and I finally had enough and booked. I am not afraid of the liquid diet after banding, that makes sense. What I am having trouble with is going from KFC one day to Yogurt and Cottage Cheese the next! No one said it would be easy. -
Hi Donna, I did look around a bit but this one is close to where I live and work so I decided to go for it. Sounds like you are coming in from out of town?

Hi, I am being banded on April 5th at TLBC in Toronto. Pleasde add me to the list. -
Hi Donna, I am getting the banded at the TLBC in Toronto. The cost is $16,000 Canadian Dollars. I have to pay an extra $500 to stay overnight at the clinic, they want to monitor my sugar (insulin dependant diabetic). All fills and follow ups are included. Dave

I started my pre-op diet today, I got on the scale and was surprised to see my weight. I am down like 13 lbs from 4 weeks ago. Of course I should explain that I have had a bug that has cut my appitite and has loosened things down below. So much for getting the flu shot! I am experimenting with cutting and pasting the tracker I created below, excuse the duplication. Thanks Dave <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wR6mtBN/"> <img border="0" src="<A href="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wR6mtBN/weight.png"></a">http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wR6mtBN/weight.png"></a> [link=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wR6mtBN/] [image noborder]http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wR6mtBN/weight.png[/image] [/link]

Hi Guys, I am booked to have my band installed on April 5th in Toronto at TLBC. I am glad to see a thread just for guys, I can relate to a lot of what we I have read already. I am a cancer survivor and have lost some mobility with a hip replacement recently. I am over 300 lbs. and growing. Where does this appetite come from! I would like to get below 200 lbs. I am hoping that losing weight will help me in many ways; -help me be more active -help me reduce my dependancy on medications -help recover my sex life Am I dreaming? Dave
