  1. I contacted both of my insurance companies today; and both my insurance companys told me WLS are not covered under my plan. 1). Primary = Anthem BCBS Blue Preferred Primary Plus (POS) As of 2004 they have an exclusion: Related to weight loss or treatment of obesity. 2). Secondary = United Health Care of ohio Choice They do not cover weight loss surgeries. I can't believe it! Now I have to come up with a plan B. I am so sad. I never thought both insurance compan

  3. I am filled at 1.5cc - I have never felt full after a few bites. However, I must eat real slow and chew food well because I can feel it slidding down. I can actually feel it slowly sliding down as I eat so I chew well and eat very slow. Is this okay? Do I need another fill to hold the food in the pouch longer? What is the normal time food is to stay in the pouch? Mine is slidding down within 30 seconds. I have never felt the fullness after several bites. Any advice would be helpful... Because I'm FRUSTRATED

    What does Restriction feel like?

Megan, Wow thank you so much for you reply; What an excellent description of the fill stages. Thank you so much!
  5. Yesterday went in for a fill and only 1cc of "old" fulid was in my band. I had my last fill back in June which brought me up to a total of 4cc. Where did the fulid go.. where are those other 3cc of fulid. The doctor took the 1cc out of "old looking fulid" is what he saild was in my band and he replaced 1cc I got back in 2 weeks and he is going to check to see if the 1cc is still there. Where did the fulid go?
  6. Greeting! I have a question.. If you have Good Restriction or have reached your "sweet spot": 1). How much solid food should one be able to eat? 2). How long should food stay in the pouch before you feel it sliding down?
  7. What does it feel like to reach your "Sweet Spot"? I've had 3 fills. I'm at 3.cc I can still eat normally amounts as long as I eat slow and chew things up real well. I thinking after eating around a cup of food I should feel Full. Thats not the case. I can feel the food going down, thats why I have to eat slow. If I eat too fast or not chew well WOW that painful. But as long as I eat Slow and chew the food well I can eat my normal amount of food. Is this normal?

    Hello I'm am from Ohio.
  14. I am a Self-Pay. Surgery scheduled for March 8th. My biggest fear is something going wrong and my hospital bill skyrocketing. So I would like to hear from some of our self-pay folks. 1). Did you have any complications/problems? If so did the insurance help with any of the cost or did you have to self-pay for that too? 2). Was the Price you quoted the actual price or did somethings get added on at the end that you were unaware of? 3). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm nervous about being a self-pay.. But I still want to do this.. ha ha Am I crazy!
  15. My insurance will not pay so I'm going to be self-pay. I'm having it done here in the states which cost way more. My question to others is did you have a fear that something could go wrong and your hospital bill could sky-rocket! Did any other self-pay people have this fear. I wondering if there are complication down the road... what will happen will I have to self-pay for complication down the road. anyone else have this fear

Not Covered by Anthem or UHC.

Great Advice, Thanks! YUP.. I have both my benefits summary guide books and both of them list WLS under EXCLUSIONS. At lease for the PLANS I have so I guess I need to find out the plan that includes the WLS and switch to that plan. My HR Rep is on vacation til the end of the month but I can't wait til she gets back. I know sign up changes to benefits plans for our company is in October...Looks like this is going to be a long process.. But I'm willing to wait and hang in there. Once great thing is the support system. Wow! I love this site and all the support I get this makes the wait much easier.. Thanks to all of you for your replies, advice and encouraging words.
