eeyoregirl1970 replied to crstalww's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay Worm! I am almost 1 week post op. Hard to believe. Lets hear from the November folks. -
Blood Sugars.
eeyoregirl1970 replied to eeyoregirl1970's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No. I only got a few shots of insulin in hospital. No meds or anything. I am a dawn riser too. High AM numbers was my usual. But with everything being different I am trying to wrap my head around what to expect with my BS levels. Probably too soon to tell. -
So I placed a large order with this company Pre op on oct 26th. No order and no returned phone calls. Looks like I will have to reorder vitamins somewhere else. But need some soon. This place seems shady and wonder if anyone else here has dealt with them.

5 Days Post-Op Question
eeyoregirl1970 replied to BrianneP.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there surgery sister. I had mine last Thursday also. My surgeon said the most important thing is hydration right now. I've been on a combo of clear and full and am doing pretty well. Can you call your surgeons offices and ask a nurse there? I was having some lightheadedness and was told to up the water a bit. They were happy to answer me so try that before you go off on own mission. -
Bj Bariatrics...problems Anyone?
eeyoregirl1970 replied to eeyoregirl1970's topic in Food and Nutrition
Thanks. Being post op only 5 days and not having the supplies you ordered makes me freak out a bit. I guess I will have to get to gnc ASAP since it doesn't look like these people are going to call me. -
What Was Your Biggest Misconception About Surgery?
eeyoregirl1970 replied to hajones5891's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The hydration is harder than I thought. Trying to sip all day and sleeping a lot more than I thought isn't making this easy. Pushing through though. Going to do it. Just taking a little bit. Just needed to whine a bit. I am 4 days post op -
Hi. I found some Edys slow churned no sugar added ice cream made with Splenda. Has anyone tried this? I am pre op and trying stock up a bit.
-
Any of my November friends who are now post op having any issues with lightheadedness? It is not too horrible. Just not fun and making me a tad nauseas.
-
I just got home. I am officially post op now. I am on full liquid but I want to be sure I am doing this right. My NUT gave me a sample menu that says about 1oz every 15 minutes. I am just making sure that sounds right. To me it just feels like I will be sipping all day long. Which is ok by me. I am just seeing if others had these instructions too. I want to do everything as I should. My Soup gets cold though waiting to stretch out each bite. I am lucky with no nausea or anything so I am just kinda freaking out I guess. Any advice for these first few days home on full liquid.

Hi all! I am on my way home today. My hubby is picking up my meds. It was tough to find the liquid kind but should be good now after a few calls. Glad to see other November peeps doing well and welcome to the newbies. Still a little gassy but after going potty I am starting to feel better. The walking helps with that. Started full liquids today. Did better than I expected. Few bites of tomato soup and a few bites of sf pudding. No nausea for me. Yay! Keep the updates coming everyone. Going to rest now but will check back later.

Hi all. Doing pretty good. I ate a Popsicle today. It was the best thing I've ever had lol. Still lots of gas pain, but I know it will pass (pun intended). Morphine does nothing for me so I just taking it like a champ. So happy I now a post op. looking forward to seeing how everyone else in the November family is doing. The updates are great.

Hi! Has anyone got any advice on these? I have heard mixed reviews. I hear they are a bit tart and not all that great. Also that they should be cold when you drink them. I just haven't seen too many posts on them. They are 42g for some and 26g for some others. I was thinking it may be good to have on hand early on. I can drink 1/2 or a 1/4 of one at a time to get in the most Protein I can while on the liquid phase. Can anyone share their experience with these.... good or bad. thanks so much,

Out of surgery now. Doing well. Pretty groggy and gas pains a little but otherwise good. Hope Marta's surgery went as well. Talk to everyone soon.

Regrets And Second Guesses?
eeyoregirl1970 replied to theby_88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Theby that us a worry I have and I'm still Pre op. I think it has to be normal. Any of us wouldn't need this tool if we didn't love food. I imagine feeling like doodle soon and finding that being fit will mean more than the enjoyment of overindulging. I think being only recently post op there may still be hormones making you feel bad too. I've read many posts saying it is quite an emotional journey for a bit. Do your best to look for your silver lining. -
Protein Shots
eeyoregirl1970 replied to eeyoregirl1970's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks for the warning doodle. I will just get a couple to try instead of the whole box. -
I am pre op liquid right now (surgery in 2 days) and have been craving spaghetti and meatballs... my favorite food.... glad to see there are options out there that are going to be good for me! thanks for sharing!
-

The Closer It Gets, The More Nervous I Am...
eeyoregirl1970 replied to peachee213's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally feel the same way peachee... I am two days out and have a blizzard of thoughts and worries going through my head. Thanks Dawn for the great perspective, the letter idea is great and Eva summed it up well reminding myself to keep in mind why I am doing this. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. We'll all be on the losers bench soon and will need the support. -
Worm I think we share that fear. I worry I am not as strong as some of these other success stories on this board but I am hoping to benefit from all the great advice on here as well as leaning on new friends on this board. I don't know anyone who has had this surgery so this community is great. You seem determined and I know you will do awesome.

My Fitness Pal
eeyoregirl1970 replied to lilmickey78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I am eeyoregirl1970. MFPal is great. I love the sharing of the good diary for ideas and the encouragement. Friend me. I am pretty new to it. -
I can relate to so many of these posts. Like crystlww I too am scared. But I am also frustrated with liquid diet. I am excited and nervous. Overwhelmed. Worried about life after RNY and praying I have the strength I think I have to use this tool and be grateful for the healthier life it can bring. Best wishes to all going into surgery today and all of my November sisters. Keep us up to date when you can.
