Going Back To Work...what To Take For Lunch?

Steamed cauliflower with ground Turkey and plenty of broth puréed. Spaghetti meat sauce puréed. Gazpacho Refried Beans and ricotta
  2. Children's chewable grape did it for me!
  3. Had my surgery yesterday, Aug 6 at 10am. Woke up ok, with pain and pressure in my chest. Surgery itself went well. Fighting bad gas pain, but tolerable. Pain meds an gas x on board. Ok so far!
  4. I'm jealous of the peeps who get to have mushies before 14 days. I wonder why surgeon protocol varies so much.
  5. One night and most of the next day. Ice chips only the first day, and added water the second day. Couldn't wait to get home to my own bed and no squeezy leg things!

    Gas Pain Day 3?

Totally normal, from what I've been told and have experienced so far. I'm 5 days post op. However, my doctor says no protein until day 7 so my drinks are still in the fridge.

    Rating Protein Shakes

Isopure glass bottled protein! Thin and easy to get down poured over ice.
  9. Love this thread. I have 9 days to go until soft food and I'm dying already lol!! Can't even start protein til Monday.
  10. I'm 5 days post op and doing ok. I told myself I wouldn't weigh in until my 1 week post op appt with my Dr but I couldn't wait. I've lost 8 lbs in 5 days, so I'm thrilled! I have a BMI on the lower end for this surgery, so I'm expecting weight loss to be a little slower than some others. I get to start protein Monday, and I'm looking forward to not feeling so weak and tired. Still having internal spasm like pain at night which causes me to have to wake up and walk a lot! Looking forward to sleeping through the night one of these days.
  11. I am 5'6" and my PCP would like me to weigh 135-150

    Now That I Am Post-Op

I was sleeved on the 6th and am not even allowed protein until 7 days out, do don't worry about it. Just stay hydrated. With this surgery once you get dehydrated you can't drink enough to catch up and you'll end up back in the hospital with an IV. I drink warm herbal tea and broth since my sleeve isn't tolerating cold fluids or plain water. Hang in there.

    Huge Pill..eek

Get a pill cutter at the pharmacy and cut it into 4 pieces after asking the pharmacist if that's ok. That's what I do.
  14. Woke up at 1am with gripping stomach pain. Feels like a spasm that runs the length of my sleeve. Walked an sipped warm tea until 4am. This has been happening off and on, but not this intense. Hoping these pains get better with time.

    Post Op Pain Killer

I had surgery Monday and needed Tylenol once and that was it. No bad pain!
  16. Day 4 post op now. Cold fluids are too painful but warm tea is my best friend. Able to get in 40 of the 60 oz I'm supposed too. Started full liquids today but they caused too much gas pain so I'm backing off a bit. Protein starts day 7. I have the Isopure flavored glass bottles. Thin and easy to get down.
  17. Warm decaf tea goes down well and stays down.
  18. Hi! I was also sleeved Monday. I'm not supposed to have any protein drinks until day 7, so maybe you're trying to soon? I can have full liquids starting today, clear before that. Mushy food starts day 14.
  19. Don't need the gory details, but has anyone had to use an enema to get things moving? My surgeon suggested it if no BM by day 5. I'm on day 4 and nada so far but starting to get uncomfortable. How many days post op before you were able to go, and did you need an enema? The word alone scares me lol!
  20. I'm wondering if you were getting ill already and the egg had little to do with it?

    Calcium "horse" Pills

I was told to get chewables so it's not an issue.
  22. I went home the next day at 6pm. Got home last night and this is my first full day home.
  23. I was sleeved Aug 6. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had pictured in my head. After checking in, in was nervous and tearful. I met everyone working on my surgery and was wheeled back to operating room where I was given a "martini" injection and the next thing I knew I was in recovery being asked about my pain level. I was well cared for all day and night with IV pain meds. The hardest part was and still is the gas. Walk a ton!! I Was released home at 6pm the next day. Working on fluids (they go down hard right now) and walking the gas off. Only need Tylenol chewable and GasX strips. Breathing into the spirometer every 10-15 mins and making myself cough. Incision pain is very mild. Gas is worse than incisions.
  24. Post Op Day 1. Surgery was yesterday. I'm home. Have to be standing in order to get fluids in without pain at bottom of sleeve. Does this pain with fluids get better?

I was told not to worry one but about protein until week 2. In fact, no protein drinks until day 8.
