    Increasing Carbs

I love hummus! And I have been drinking 1 glass of milk a day. Maybe I will increase that. Not a big fan of yogurt but maybe some mixed with fruit will give me carbs. And I love cheese!! Have been having that daily. I'm getting 600 calories a day on average.
  3. This post is very reassuring. I am 5 1/2 weeks out and have stalled for the last 3. The first few weeks I actually though "Is this it? Is this all I get?" But after speaking to my surgeon u realized its perfectly normal, just goes to show that surgery really isn't the easy way out. If you want ur sleeve to work for u then u have to work for ur sleeve. Being honest I haven't stepped inside the gym in months. Next week I'm going bak into the routine as I will be able to exhert myself to a normal limit. I just keep telling myself that if I just keep doing what I'm doing then the weight WILL come off, it just has to

    Go-To Foods Post Op

I would def not stock up on things before surgery. I was up and walking out and about around day 5 post op so going to the store was no issue for me. Clear fluid - SF apple juice, clear broths, crystal light, mio, sf jello Full fluids- carnation instant breakfast, cream soups, sf puddings, protein shakes, Greek yogurt, fruit yogurt Purée - Chilli, beans, stews, chicken, fish, seafood (of course has to be purée consistency) Soft food - babybell cheese Sorry, I know there's a lot more to add in. Just can't think right now. And also, these are just directions given to me by my NUT and surgeon. Everyone is different.
  5. Are u kidding!? Ur not jumping the gun? Any loss is an accomplishment. Congrats on ur first 20 lb. many more to come! You look great:) I can see a huge difference!!
  6. Those of you that are losing hair, how much protein on average do u get in/day? Are u meeting the 60gm min requirement? Are u taking biotin? Just curious as I am 5 weeks out. Haven't had any hairloss but my hair is thin to begin with

    Tattoo Ides?

I am 105lbs from goal and I was thinking yesterday of rewards I can give myself everytime I lose ten lbs. things like "get hair done" "diamond earrings" "iPad" are a few of the ones on my list. When I reach my ultimate goal of 140lbs I will be getting a tattoo. I love the Phoenix idea..even a butterfly to symbolize where we were and where we are. I was also thinking of having the # of lbs I lost to be written in Roman numerals under the butterfly or Phoenix. The tattoo would be on my back, to symbolize that that part of my life is behind me.

Omfg ... They Are Going To Shove...

I know this is a guys topic...but I woke up from surgery with a catheter in. I didn't have one when I was in the operating room when I was still conscious and I don't know exactly when they put it in but it wasn't painful. Just a little irritating when I walked around because it felt like I needed to pee. It came out the night before I was discharged and that wasn't painful either just a little uncomfortable

    Nsv

Yup! Same thing happened to me. I bought a brand new pair of stilettos before I got my surgery date. Tried them on today and they are a whole size too big. Going to see if the store will exchange the size for me
  12. I have been stuck at 245-247 for 2 weeks. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op. i was 280 pre op and 260 day of surgery. Lose a pound, gain 2. Lose 2, gain a pound. It's been 1 heck of a seesaw! But!!!!!!! I tried on some clothes that were very snug 2 weeks ago when I was still 246 and they fit now! I used to wear a size 18 jean and today I slipped ok a size 14! Just want to remind u all that even if the scale isn't moving, don't get discouraged. Tere are other ways Rolf judging an measuring

I Cannot Wait To Wear_______(Fill In)

In all honesty? I cannot wait to wear clothes that reflect me!! I spent the whole day going to my closet and sorting out clothes into piles of "keep", "donate", "sell" and I realized that at my largest size (20w) I was buying clothes for the sake of having something that fit. I didn't care about color, cut, print, shape. If it covered me, I bought it. I am selling items that I either wore once or never wore at all because the clothes aren't me! I am a skinny girl stuck in this body. Of course I love comfy things but I don't belong in sweatpants and hooded zippered sweatshirts 24/7. I deserve to wear dresses and pretty skirts and fancy blouses. I always indulged in purses in shoes because no matter how big u are, u can always find a nice purse or pair of shoes. I cannot wait to be able to buy clothes in that way too

    Drinking Water

I agree with tryin it at different temp. How about peppermint tea? It's soothing and if u have warm or hot liquids, there is less of a chance that u will chug it. And with the crystal lights, I am finding them too sweet. I was putting 1 single serving pack in a bottle of 500mls Water, now I put that packet in 1,000mls of water and can tolerate the taste.
  15. At the same time though I wish I had been suggested weight loss surgery earlier such as at the age of 21 when I was 220 lbs...I wouldn't have had that extra 60lbs to lose (I was 280 at my highest)... And the 4 years of suffering in that body
  16. See it all depends on the person. Although I have always been a bit more mature for my age (im 25) I personally don't think I would have been able to make it through this journey if I was say..21? I was still very mature for my age when I was 21 but I wouldn't have had the focus it required to do a pre op, full fluid diet, excersise etc. I also think that those psychic evaluations and mandatory group meetings come in handy. I see some 40+ year olds on here posting things like "I'm 3 days post op and just ate a bag of Doritos. Do u think I will be ok"? And then some young people offering such great advice and inspiration!

    The Weight Isn't Budging...

    The Weight Isn't Budging...

Goal for carbs 82 an Protein only 22. I'm trying to figure out a way that I can change it on my own to reflect my lifestyle but u guess it creates it for u based on ur weight...
  19. I just picked up chicken breast from the grocery store. 1 breast has 41gm of protein! I cooked it all. Had 1/2 for lunch and will have 1/2 for dinner, had 20gms of protein at breakfast already so ill easily pass my goal of 60gms today:)

    The Weight Isn't Budging...

Yeah my period came on the 6th of October so I'm expecting it again within a few days..hopefully that's just it and I can break this stall. My carbs are always low . Even on my fitness pal I never near the amount of carbs ok goaled at
  21. You know you have been on a liquid diet when ur fiancé has his arm around you and you think to yourself if he would still marry you if you chopped off his arm, marinated it and BBQ it...
  22. I'm about 5 weeks post op. I bought these Marc Angelo meat balls from Walmart. 3 meat balls have about 200 calories (yeah I know that's high) but 22gms protein. Add a little melted cheese on top and easily 30 GM right there. I also like tuna fish cans. Clover leaf makes flavored ones I think they are like 110 calories and 18gm protein. chicken has great amounts of protein. I can usually have a boneless skinless thigh. Low calories and 20+ Gm of protein. I love Greek yogurt. 18gm of protein. If I want it sweet I add some mio. If I was it savory I add some taco seasoning or dry ranch powder. I'm still using shakes but only 1 a day
