  1. Has anyone tried unjury unflavored in applesauce? Still pre op but thinking of the things that will easily go down in post op stages that I could add protein to

    Overeating

I did the same..but stopped 2 days before because I didn't wanna go through withdrawal. I had pizza, wings, mcdonalds big Mac fillet o fish, mcchicken, their pies, cheesecake, brownies..not all in one day of course lol! But after eating all that I realized how sick I felt emotionally and physically and how I never wanna feel this way again! We all go through it, just remember that there's a goal we need to keep our eyes on.

Should I Or Should I Wait?

I agree with the post about being obsessed with losing too fast. I agree that we lose rapidly with the sleeve and you don't want to put your body into shock. My personal opinion would be to stick with ur workout routine as it is at the moment, then make yourself a promise to either restart insanity at (blank) months post op or when you get to a certain weight (like 30 lbs from Goal). Because when ur A few months post op or a few months away from goal, your caloric intake will be higher than it is now, and ur body would have had more time to heal. Sorry I haven't really looked to see how long post op u are but I would hate to see u harm or injure urself. I do admire you motivation and spirit and hope I will have the same when I'm post op. I'm 272 right now pre op and goal 130 post

    Upset

I'm also a nurse, work in both extended and complex care and I'm taking 6 weeks off. U don't need to do any heavy lifting or pushing at school..where as at work, u might. What would happen if a patient fell and u had to assess? Or if someone needed CPR and they were on the ground? Ur body can't bend like that so fast after surgery. Also I don't know about u, but where I work our med carts prob way 100lbs and there is no way I'm pushing/pulling that thing around until 6 weeks after. If ur doctor has given u a note saying 4 weeks off then it's ur employers responsibility to cover u. What u do outside of work isn't any of his/her business

Lab Work And Ekg Fasting Or Non?

If blood glucose or HBA1C are on ur list then yes. U do not need to fast for an EKG. I did my EKG and blood work on the same day, so I took a protein shake with me. Once the woman was done taking my blood I drank the shake while waiting for an EKG. Sorry, I'm not sure what other tests u are getting done

    Anyone Start At 240Ish Lbs?

Not true. When people are battling co-morbities along with their weight, the need is there. Everyone has their own struggles. I have seen people on here that were under 200 and had vsg

Good luck darling! As I always say, the first 2-3 days are the toughest..keep ur eye on the prize
  15. My surgeons assistant just emailed me. My endocrinologist is the one who suggested that my surgery be postponed, but it's my surgeon that said "I don't think it will be necessary to postpone or cancel your surgery". I go to see my family doc next week hopefully I will get iron infusions. Just hope they will bring up my levels soon enough before surgery!

    Calling All Canadians!

What's wrong with the royal jubilee? Lol u know when it was first build there weren't any straight hallways..they were u shaped because the theory was that germs only travelled in a straight line! But those times are gone. They just renovated last year and have a brand new patient care centre (see how I spent centre with an re not er lol) Canadians yeah!!
  17. Hi all! Im from Victoria BC and will be getting sleeved by Dr. Malik here at the Royal Jubilee. How did everyone's sleeve experience go?

    Unjury

I just got a delivery from unjury today! Surprised it took less than a week! (I'm in Canada). I bought the chicken soup and the unflavored. I think I'm going to buy the starter pack next. They gave me a sheet with the different flavors and how to use them
  19. Thanks! I called and made an appointment with my fame doc. Hopefully she will agree to iron infusions before my surgery. She had made this suggestion a year ago before I had even considered vsg. I said no thinking I would be able to get my iron up with supplements. Clearly not. I'm taking 3 pills a day! Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers
  20. Thank you everyone for your support! I hope to hear from my surgeon via email later today. My iron is 5 points below the Lower end of the scale. I hope he just says take extra iron from now until surgery day since I'm on the pre op diet and can't eat anything (grrrr)) lol
