I'm a 60 year old woman who has been on a wait list for going on three years for sleeve surgery. I would be waiting for another three years if my wonderful sister-in-law hadn't offered to pay for my surgery for me.    I will be having the surgery on July 2, 2012 and will be home in Vernon on July 5th, 2012, all going well. I feel like I've won the Lottery, the good Lord has certainly answered my prayers....I will keep you posted. My start weight was 257, and now, a week prior to the surgery, it is 247...yep that's right folks, 10 pounds and no smoking....and I feel great! Let's hope it all keeps up.

UPDATE: Had my surgery July 2, 2012, weighed in at 240 (Yeah me!!) gained 8 pounds immediately following the surgery but had lost 4 by the 5th when I returned home. Today is August 7th, 2012 and I weighed in this weekeat 224 lbs...it's falling off people. I am finding that if I get some exercise every day, I consistently loose weight. I feel and look fabulous,...my face was the first place to loose....I'm doing the labour day challenge and hope to get down under the 200 mark...have changed my goal weight to a more reasonable 135 pounds....There was absolutely no pain around the surgery, and my coach/girlfriend and I were treated like queens by the staff and doctors at the Obesity Control Centre and the Marriott Hotel Tijuana....Can't sing their praises loud enough....better treatement than I would have ever received in Canada or the States.... :wub:
