Hi all: Had my sleeve surgery on July 2, 2012. Start weight 258, now (July 30) 230. Yeah me...am loosing about a pound every two days...feel amazing. Would like to get under 200 by the Labour Day weekend, but if I don't I won't cry,,,,I'm enjoying the journey. Going to start at the gym soon, doing walking right now....Had my surgery in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz...treated like a Princess, and they told me the truth,,..NO PAIN!!! Cher :wub:

Thanks so much for your good advice and common sense. I am having my surgery a week from tomorrow (July 2nd, 2012) in Tijuana at the Obesity Control Center with Dr. Ortiz. So far the gang there have been amazing. My conference with the Nutritionalist was great and my start weight was 257 and I have lost 10 pounds already, so something is definitely working. I still have a ton of questions for this week, but I am confident and so relieved that I am finally going to have the surgery....Thanks for your support. Cheryl-Lynn

Hi Sleeve Guru: I hear you about waiting for insurance to approve your surgery. Although I don't need insurance approval in Canada, our Medical Services Plan has cut our Bariatric Surgeons down to 2 surgeries a month, so I have been waiting for 2 years, however, they are just now doing the people who have been waiting since 2006...unbelievable! Well, I am the original squeeky wheel, so here goes. I will make sure that I get this surgery even if I have to go the Mexico to get it, I am 60 years old and am unable to do any of the activities I enjoy because of my weight, and I don't intend to let the weight end my life as I know it. So one way or the other, I will have this surgery before the summer of 2012. Wish me luck guys, and keep the faith.
