  1. I always thought I tolerated pain well, but I needed my pain meds after this surgery. I was begging them post op for something stronger and I could hardly open my eyes. I took almost all the T3 they sent home with me too. I needed it.
  2. I'm glad to hear this. I'm hungry all. the. time and it makes me crazy to hear some people say they don't feel hunger, or that a sleeved person shouldn't feel hunger in the first little bit. I'm four weeks out today, and my stomach is growling as I type this.
  3. Oh there's a difference all right! You look good!

  5. You are so beautiful, and now you look so healthy too! Congrats, and thank you for sharing. You are a big encouragement to me since I started at nearly h same weight, and wan to get into my 150's as well. Thank you for giving me hope.
  6. I couldn't wear jeans for a week, even my loose ones.

    The time has come!

Good luck! I'm praying for you and you doc!

Do you drink with your food?

I'm a big drinker, always have been, and this rule kills me! But so far, I've followed it faithfully. I will admit, however, that the minute I've been done for a half an hour, I drink again like a fish. I love water, which I know is weird, but I do! My mother said as a small child, when I would start to get testy, she would give me a drink and my attitude would change almost immediately.
  9. I hope everything went well. Praying for you, and your doctor too!
  10. Color-wise, mine was the same, however, I also had an ablation years ago and they haven't been bright red very often since then.

    On my way!

    Good luck!

    Call me Alice please!

Congratulations! I can't wait to be there with you.
  13. I took my toiletries bag with my lotions and potions, my own toothbrush, chapstick, and deodorant. I packed pj pants and a bathrobe, but I tend to be overly modest. I also had my iPad and charger. That's it! I wore the same clothes home that I came in because I'd only worn them for an hour before I had to strip for surgery anyway. I wish I had brought some itchy cream. I was nearly crazy with the itchies from the pain medication. They woke my poor surgeon up at 3am so he could give orders for benedryl. I felt terrible about that.

I Hate It When People Misuse "literally"!

I'm a fast talker and I just know that when I say, "Don't ever," or, "Can't ever," it comes out sounding like a double negative: don't never, or can't never. I feel like I have to stop the conversation and pronunciate that bit again so that it's clear I'm not as ignorant as I sound.
  15. I have never been much of a soda drinker, but for the last two weeks or so, I've been dying for a soda! I'm one month post op, and way too scared of the bubbles to even attempt a sip, but what the heck? Anyone else have weird cravings?
  16. I'm another who has had the ablation and it's been a life changer for me. I've always been regular, and I still am now, but instead of having to use a tampon the size of a pool noodle along with an overnight napkin, now I use only panty liners. It was amazing, practically painless, and well worth having it done.

    Having a hard time

Maybe try eating smaller meals, and more of them, so you don't feel so hungry?

How to get over aversion to tracking

I detest tracking too, so I try to make a game of it. I reward myself when I record my meal. I try to record my foods before I eat them. Now that I'm post-op, I find my OCD kicking in because I want to make sure I hit my protein for the day, and fluid levels, and etc. I don't have much advice for you except to say I feel your pain. Sometimes there's nothing to it but to just force yourself to do it. Good luck!

    Excess Skin?

I lost 100+ pounds before and my tummy and "front butt" areas looked worse then than they did at my heaviest, where at least everything was smooth-ish. I have been looking into laser lipo... Not lipo with lasers. It's supposed to be painless, and much, much cheaper than traditional lipo & tummy tucks. It looks like it sorta melts the fat and tightens the skin from the outside, in. The YouTube videos of before and after are really impressive, and best of all, no scars. Maybe that would be an option?

40 Y.O.,Obese since childhood, want to lose 150?

I have no advice or what have you, but I wanted to thank the OP and everyone who has replied, because I have the same concerns. It's good to see I'm not alone. Best of luck to us both!
  21. I counted bites. It's the only way I could figure it out. I find I can take six bites, very well chewed, before it starts feeling like its coming up my throat. Sometimes that's still one bite too many, but at least it gives me an idea of what I can eat. Eta: I get that gurgling noise too, my kids laugh but it's a little embarrassing.

    How are you tracking?

I use lose it. It syncs with my android phone, pc, and iPad. There's a great barcode scanner and it will figure out the cals and nutrients of any recipe I input, so I don't have to worry about home made casseroles, etc. it's the best tracking software I've ever used.
  23. I seriously followed a guy through the city, rolled my window down and screamed at him like a fishwife because he honked at me at a green light. There was a pedestrian so I couldn't go, and I lost my marbles. I've never done that before in my life, and I chose someone in the city to go bat crap crazy on! I'm glad he didn't have a gun, sheesh! I couldn't figure out why I behaved like that, but i forgot about the hormone/fat relationship.

    worried

I actually felt worse after they took the drain out, for about a day. I found I also would have seemingly random pain here and there. Just keep tabs on it, and try not to worry too much. Good luck!
