Hello everyone. I just really need advice from others when it comes to hairloss. I suffer from androgenic alopecia, and my hair loss is permanent. I was told by my doctor before surgery that my hair COULD shed, but that if I ate enough protein, I wouldn't have to worry about that. Is there anyone else who suffers from alopecia that would be able to help me out? I was banded on June 8, 2012. Just afraid of being completely bald at 30, that's all.

Food Sticking In Esophagus?
Timsgrl50 replied to TornadoKnight Matt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm happy to see this post because I thought I was going crazy!!! I was banded on June 8, 2012 and have recently noticed the same thing. I can feel the food going down slowly (almost like getting stuck), and boy is it painful. I have learned to eat smaller forkfuls and slower. I'm not due for a fill until July 28th, or something like that. -
I am having pain today by my port as well. It's actually to the upper right of the port site, and it hurts when walking or laying on my sides. I was banded June 8th and have been pretty much pain free for the last week until today. Has anyone had this experience? The port area also seems to be a little raised and red in the area I have pain in. I called the doctor, and they said its normal, but it just seems weird after having been without pain.

Alopecia And Hair Loss
Timsgrl50 replied to Timsgrl50's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well thank you for all the input :-) I have actually tried taking biotin last year (I believe it was 5,000 mcg) or something like that, and it actually caused me to put on weight. I quickly looked online to see if anyone else had experienced this, and there were some other posts on it. Perhaps I just need to try a lower dose. I will just continue to watch my protein intake for now and see how it goes from there.
