I am about 1 month post op and i have the same experience. My port area also hurts when i sit for too long, like at work, but on a good note... it has forced me to correct my posture! If I sit up straight, I don't feel it so much. But I am hoping it will just get better eventually cause I would really like to be able to do some hard-core workouts! At this time, I am still just doing my walks everyday.

Well, let's see... B: coffee w/ cream S: 12 Almonds L: leftover BBQ boneless skinless small piece of chix thigh (anyone else have trouble w/chix breast?) and 1/2 cup grilled squash D: some spinach salad and 1/2 cup Pasta w/olives and artichoke hearts with chunky tomato sauce S: 1/2 cup strawberry and honey Protein shake S: 3 bites dark choc cake looking back, I think I have way too many "S" 's! I am up till all hours and I can't imagine having just one snack! Is this wrong? My stomach literally growls at me! Any comments are greatly appreciated considering I am still very new at this. As you can see, I have a problem eating meat...it doesn't go down!

No prob! I had it done in TJ by Dr. Ortiz. It was $8500... $500 due within 3 days of booking appt and the rest due the day of surgery if paying with cashier's check, like what I did. I flew into San Diego on Sunday morning and was picked up by their driver at the airport. At 8 AM Monday, I was picked up from the hotel and taken to the hospital where I had my consultation and exams(nutritionist and Cardiologist). My surgery was done soon after and I stayed at the hospital that night. I was checked out the next morning(Tues) and stayed at the hotel one more night. I was then picked up again by their driver on Wed morning and taken to the airport where my flight took off at 9:30 AM. As for fills, I am not there yet but to my understanding, they would like you to go back there for your first one but the Dr. told me he would refer me to a local Dr. if I couldn't make it back there so soon again. And TJ was pretty. If you go during nice weather, schedule yourself so that the first day you get there, you have time to hang out by the pool b/c it's really nice! My sister came with me and we had a great time just walking around the hotel area and practicing our Spanish. After the surgery, it is important to walk as much as you can so it was very nice to be able to do it outside. Let me know if you have any other questions! I am happy to help considering I've had a very pleasant experience thus far.

I'm pretty sure that you will need to find a doctor elsewhere w/ your low BMI (like Mexico). I used to live in SW MI and couldn't find a doc that would even give me a consultation. I eventually went to Tijuana and am perfectly happy with my choice. I started out with a BMI of only 30 so feel free to ask me any questions since we are prob in the same boat!

Lost Weight But My Clothes Are Tighter!
RJBaby replied to coutureallure's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Couture! I am almost 2 weeks post-op and my tummy is still bigger than before i went in for surgery, yet i'm down 9 lbs! I do feel as if it is still gas, though. I've heard that some people have it for a few months even. Every day feels better, though, and I wake up feeling less pressure every morning.
