I make this all the time but I add a can of Rotel and chop up an onion. My husband loves it and doesn't realize he's eating healthy. :-) Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Awesome!!!! Way to go!!!

I was banded two months ago and I'm still learning my band. I do know that whenever I'm stressed my band gets tight and I've learned (the hard way) that I shouldn't eat. I've also learned (the hard way) to take SMALL bites an chew, chew, chew!!!!!!

Way to go!!!! Congrats!! I went shopping tonight with my daughter. I tried on tons of clothes. I had such a good time trying them all on. I tried a variety of sizes to see what size I'm in right now. Some didn't fit yet and some were baggy. I have gone from a 18/20 to a 13 in jeans!!! And from a 18/20 (2XL) shirt down to a large (some XL due to the "girls")!! I tried on a 10 in Levi's and they were a little tight. I should have bought them and hung them up. It would have given me motivation to lose more!! I'll go back in two weeks and try them on again.

I walk around our city park. One time around is 1.25 miles. I started out going half way around. Then I moved up to one time around. Now I am going around 2 times. It took me 3 months to work up to 2 times around. Yesterday I started incorporating jogging (fast walking) into my routine. I would job a while and walk a while. I still made it around 2 times. Unfortunately i am not able to do this everyday. Between my work and school schedule I also have to take my daughter to dance class 3 times a week. She is too young to just drop her off so I have to sit and wait on her. So, I can only walk about 3-4 times a week. I hope to increase my laps to 3 starting next week. Right now I am at a stand still with my weight loss so I'm hoping that if I increase my walking it will jump start my loosing again. I haven't lost any weight in about 2 weeks. I'm getting frustrated!!! I'm making sure I'm getting all my protein in. My water is another story. I get almost all of it in everyday but it's hard!!! I wish I weighed what myfitnesspal says I would weigh 5 weeks ago!!!

I'm the same way right now. I have an appointment to go back to see my surgeon on Thursday. I'm going to see if he thinks I'm too tight and need an unfill. Thursday will be a week since I got my fill. I can keep my Protein shakes and Water down. Tonight I had Soup and so far it has stayed down. Any solid food that I've tried has not stayed down. I've also had A LOT of sliming and PB's!!! Good luck to you!

I'm so excited!! I got on the scales this morning and I have lost 50.5 pounds!!! I started this journey at the end of May when I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. My doctor said either diet/exercise or medication. I chose to try the diet and exercise. I had been thinking about lapband for several months and finally decided to have the surgery. Boy have I not regretted my decision!!!! I started out at 228 and am now 177.4!! 50 pounds was my first big goal. Now I'm pushing for 75. My family (other than my husband) can finally see that I am loosing weight. :-) I have also been cleaning out my clothes. I have given away about 3-33 gallon garbage bags full of clothes. I am down to 4 pairs of pants! I couldn't be more excited. I stared out in a size 18/20 top and bottom and am now in a size 13/14 pant and a large top. I actually have a couple of pairs of pants that have elastic waist and they are a size 8/10. They are tight but they fit. :-) If they don't have elastic I have to get the bigger size. :-( I would like to thank everyone on here for their advise and wisdom!! I have read lots and lots of post and feel that I learned alot about what to do and not to do with my band. So, THANK YOU everyone!!!

I don't have much time to sew anymore! I work full time and go to school full time, plus run my 9 year old to dance class 3 x's a week. What do you like to sew? I love to sew for my daughter, especially when she was little. Now I mostly sew/embroider t-shirts and I make purses and diaper bags. -

Thank you guys for the nice comments!!! 30 pounds pre-op, 20.5 post-op! Surgery was 8/15/2. :D :D -
Thursday night and Friday day were horrible. I wasn't even able to drink much water. It hurt so bad. It felt like I was trying to swallow a golf ball. Saturday I could drink my vitamin water and applesauce. Saturday night I tried to eat a mushie green pepper and onion---no way, it came back up! Today I tried a few bites of chicken, same thing. But this evening I have had a protein shake and a vitamin water and they have stayed down and didn't hurt going down. Do you think I was just swollen from the fill, or do you think I still have too much and need to go back for an unfill? I am going to call my Dr. first thing in the morning to see if I can be seen tomorrow. Hopefully this will get taken care of. Even though I'm not really hungry, I have been having head hunger (and the weirdest cravings) like crazy!!! I have not had caffeine or carbonated beverages since the end of May but the last couple of days I think I could have drank a whole case of soda!!! :-(

I got my first fill today. 2 cc's. I thought I was doing okay but I didn't make it out to my car before I started PB'ing. That was almost 3 hours and I'm still doing it. I have to admitt it has been a VERY stressful day as we've had a family crisis and I've cried pretty much all day. Plus my doctor asked me to drink plain luke warm tap water while he was doing the fill and I absolutely cannot stand plain water, let alone luke warm water!!!! It makes me gag!!!! Do you think the stress of today or the plain water has made me sick or do you think I've gotten too much for my first fill?? Do you think taking a walk will help?

I have found I really like turkey pepperoni slices and reduced fat cheese its. :-)

I've not tried to eat or drink anything since I got home. I feel like I can't swallow and I've got a "burp" stuck in my throat. Ugh!!! I'm supposed to do liquids for 24 hours and then mushies for 24 hours. I think I'll just go to bed. It's been a bad day!!

Hey guys! I am 25 days post op and I still have to remind myself to eat and drink. I am almost never hungry. I am having a hard time getting all my protein and water in every day because I just don't think about eating or drinking. I am so busy everyday between work, going to school, homework, and taking my daughter to her dance classes that I sometimes forget to eat. I know that I'm not doing myself any favors and I've actually not lost any weight in the last 6 days. Maybe I need to set the alarm on my phone to remind myself to eat. Anybody else have any other suggestions? I go see my doctor in 11 days and I don't know if he will give me my first fill or not. :-(

Thanks for the comments everyone. I just packed my breakfast, lunch, and dinner for tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow is a long day for me. I will head out to work by 7 a.m. and won't be home until after my classes end at 10 p.m. It's hard trying to pack for all day!! Just gotta remember to drink, drink, drink!!! LOL

Wow! How awesome!!! I hope to be at goal within 24 months! Thanks for your story. It's great to hear success stories! I'm just 25 days post-op but these 25 days have flown by!

Eating Mushies And Beyond- Advice Please
sews4fun replied to farmgirl04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Farm girl, you sound just like me. Everyday I say I'm gonna do better the next day, but the truth is, I'm not hungry and I don't think about eating. I know I need more protein and water but the day gets away from me too fast. Maybe this is why my weight loss has slowed down. I lost 30 lbs. before surgery and have only lost 10 lbs. in the 2 weeks since I've been banded. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled I've lost 40 pounds so far. I'm just anxious for more!! :-) -

AWESOME!!!!! CONGRATS!!! -
I woke up vomitting. After one of my many boughts I started crying and and said "I'm not allowed to throw up. Is my band gonna be ok?" they assured me I was ok so I went back to sleep. After spending 24 hours in the hospital due to blood pressure complications, I was allowed to go home.

8 Days Post-Op, Gained About 5 Lbs, No Restriction, And Very Depressed
sews4fun replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have gained, lost, and gained since my surgery 10 days ago. This has definitely been a roller coaster week! -
9 days post op and this is the best I've felt in 9 days!!! I pushed too much tonight and went to the home football game. I could only make to half time. I am now in bed with the heating pad. My back is killing me from sitting on those bleachers!! I'm still not getting all of my protein and water in everyday but today was best day. Im getting better!!
