Celticgirl, I heard the same thing about Aetna. The only thing I can say is try not to worry before it's time. It's a waste of good energy. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I promise I will check back with you if I don't hear anything. :thumbup:Take care and stay positive.

Celticgirl, Everyone is different to a degree. It depends on your personal history. My history was morbid obesity for most of my adult life. I have a family history of it on my father's side. I was prediabetic, I had a pulmomary embellism and was put on coumidan. I had acid reflux for almost 20 years, high blood pressure, etc. My ability to lose weight went to a very slow crawl and finally when I did my last diet with Nutrisystem I actually gained weight after the first month. My body was rebelling. My qualifications was to be at the minimum of 100 pounds overweight along with everthing I just mentioned. The testing was fast and furious and I was afraid I would be turned down. But I did everything they asked me to do in record time. I was motivated and it showed. I think that showed when Aetna approved me so quickly. It sounds like you are doing what you need to do. Don't despare. You will make the insurance approval. Have faith. When the doctors ask you to do testing jump on it and make the first available appointment. It all helps. Let me know what happens.

I take upcal with vitamin d in powder form twice a day. I get it from the hospital and the cost is about the same as Oscal. What is nice is that I can mix it in anything. There is no taste to it. My multi vitamin is now Barriatric Essentials that I ordered from Nashua Nutrition. It's a good vitamin in gel pill form. The delivery time is about 4 days and my doctor said it was a good vitamin to take

You have lost weight. Maybe not the amount you were hoping for but you have lost. Everyone is different. When you husband's ins kicks in, get to a doctor and have a complete blood workup done. I'm sorry you are having trouble but try to keep an open, upbeat mind. It'll come.

This is truely amazing. You two look awsome! Congrats :whoo: -
I just tried a orange mocha frappacino skinny today. Tastes like one of those chocolate oranges. Yummy!

I can already see that I will need to have my arms and neck worked on. My neck won't be that bad but I've never liked the way it looked. But my upper arms are showing signs of being loose even with exercising. I've lost 62 pounds in 4 months and have another 100 or so left to lose and I exercise everyday. It's just something for me to be prepared for.

Hello to the Colorado newbies. I live in Pierce which is east of Fort Collins and north of Greeley. 4 months post op and down 62 pounds. You will love this site. People are really helpful and you do learn alot. -
Puddin, I just saw your surgery pics. You are beautiful! Great job.

Conniesueb, thanks for the words of encouragement. I feel much better and am looking ahead for this Wednesday. I went garage sale shopping with my best friend and it really helped to take my mind off of things. It was a good day and we managed to find her a nice sofa for her new apartment for only $45 at the Greeley Salvation Army. And no it wasn't trashy at all. The fabric was in really good shape the springs and cushions were still firm. All and in all it was a lot of fun.

I know that I have only been on this site once to introduce myself but I thought I would but in. I have my 4 month weigh in and fill this wednesday the 13th. A little nervous. Not about the weigh in. I'm always excited about that. I saw my pa on wednesday this week and because of a stomach bug I could not get a fill. I'm just worried that they won't give me a fill this coming week. I know it's silly to think that. I guess I'm having a moment. I hope everyone here in Colorado is doing well.

I can let you know in about 3 days as I'm going for another fill on Wed (6/06). Right now I am feeling some restriction so I don't know how much more they will fill me.

I happen to love refried beans. For more protien I'll add a little bit of mozzeralla cheese and some Pace taco sauce for spice. This will keep me full without having to snack. My PA has said this is an acceptable meal if eaten in the right amounts

After hearing about the PBing I'm now getting concerned. I have been PBing at least once a week since my last fill. Primarily at my lunch hour. I figure I'm probably eating too fast to make up time and have been trying to slow down. I don't PB at breakfast or dinner. I see my doctor on June 6th and will tell him of course what I have been experiencing. I do feel restriction with the first couple of bites but not after that. No pain, no naseau. I do feel like I could have a larger serving if I wanted to though. And there are alot of things I can't tolerate now so that stops me. Should I be worried as well? Or am I being paranoid?

Best Liquid Meal Replacement/Protein Shakes
steinquilts replied to Evilah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know I've said this before but I use EAS. By itself it's not the best, but not the worst either. I mix the following together to get a good shake... Chocolate EAS with 1/2 cup 1% milk and 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt. Add 2 teaspoons of peanut butter Chocolate EAS with 1 cup 1% milk and 2 to 4 teaspoons of fat free cream cheese Chocolate EAS with 1 cup 1% milk 1/2 to 1 teaspoon instant cappucino or hot chocolate mix Vanilla EAS with 1 cup 1% milk or 1/2 and 1/2 milk and yogurt mix with your favorite frozen or fresh fruit and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, almond, coconut flavoring. Just experiment with your goodies. You'll find something that will get you going and taste great! -
I'm like alot of people who have had the surgery. I can't tolerate breads but can eat a couple of wheat thin crackers or pita chips. I can also eat chicken, hamburger, fish, and hot dogs but can't tolerate beef or pork. It just depends on each individual

jeejee, your big day is coming up. Just a couple more days and a new life will start for you. I'm really excited for you and will say a prayer on the day of your surgery. Good Luck!

Collector, I'm in Pierce and had my surgery done by Dr. Johnell in Greeley

I am sorry to hear about your band slipping but as all of these wonderful gals have told you al is not lost. You will do great and your band will return to the proper place in due time and either naturally or by your doctor's hand. Stay calm and stay strong. How did you know that your band slipped? Did you have any problems that gave you the feeling you should see the doctor?

I'm a little confused about the fill thing as well. I just had my 3rd fill and there is now a question of my port possibly leaking. I was refilled to 1.8cc's on the 15th and am really feeling the restriction. In fact I tried a brat at the company picnic yesterday and really became distressed. I'm hoping now that the new restriction will speed up the weight loss

I've been shopping at WalMart and they seem to have a few things that aren't overpriced

The things I can't live without is the constant great support I get from my husband and my coworkers. Without them I would be nuts. My Juki sewing machine. I quilt and this is a great must have. I love it. DaVinci instant cappicino mix. I get it at Albertsons and it is only about 50 to 60 calories of yummy. And my doctor Scholl's walking shoes.
