Nov. 6th has finally arrived! Nervous but oh so excited to start this new chapter of my life. I declare victory over this in Jesus name! My surgery is today (whoop whoop) @ 7:30 AM. I'm bring sleeved in Jacksonville, FL Military Hospital. I'm down 35 pounds and a few inches too! While the rest of the world will be celebrating the end of the presidential race, I'll be celebrating victory over obesity! I want to thank all for all the support that this group provides. Looking forward to seeing each of you on the loser bench. Gotta go get to the hospital. I'll keep you posted!

Hi all. My date is November 6. I'm super excited and nervous too. I know I'll be able to lose it, maintenance is my issue. -
I too get sleeved on Super Tuesday, Nov. 6. I'm so excited. I do my psyche behavior assessment this week and have pre-ops visit on 10/25. I only have to do 1 week of clear liquids pre-op. excited.

Hi all. I'm scheduled for my sleeve on Super Tuesday... Nov. 6, 2012. Obama won't be the only one celebrating that night. Question for the veterens...How is scarring for AA sleevers?
-
Hi all, I'm torn! I thought I wanted the sleeve but now I'm leaning towards the RNY. Why? Most people who I encounter with significant weight loss has had the RNY. Not many people in my support group are sleevers. The program manager mentioned to me to go big or go home, meaning the RNY in her opinion is the granddaddy of them all. I need to make a decision and stick to it. Anyone ever felt torn like this?

My only health issue currently besideis being obese is that I have high cholesterol. Best wishes on your surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Great. I'm tricare prime as well. Is the July meeting at NAS or Mayport and where? Is it all sleeve folks or a variety of surgeries. How long does they normally last? You rock! -

Thanks Smellbug. I'll go ahead and talk to my boss about these classes and the possibility of missing work. Are the support groups during the day too? Im so excited. I scheduled my appt for PAP/physical. Just awaiting the call from surgery. When I talked to central appt today, they told me the referral is in the system but they will call me to schedule the appt. ALso, is there any our of pocket cost? Thanks again! -

Hi again, What time are the ship shape classes. I work FT and then do hair PT so I need to plan ahead of time. I do everything from NAS Jax but I have a feeling the classes will be during my work hours and I will have to make arrangements. Thanks in advance. -
