    Cheddar cheese

I see no problem with eating cheese a couple of times a day and do so myself. My dietician also has no problem with it. Enjoy the cheese!

    All of my December sleevers...

Did my weekly weigh in this morning. I'm now down a total of 40 pounds since surgery on 12/5. I'm thrilled with my progress even though it's less weight lost than others who had surgery the same day. I'm so close to onederland I can taste it! I had to stop weighing myself every day because it was making me crazy. I'm leaving on vacation to Hawaii in less than a week weighing almost 50 pounds less than I did when we went last year. I even told my husband I would try paddleboarding this year because I feel so much more confident and I found the cutest navy and white striped swim shirt (and it's not plus sized!!). Glad to see all my fellow December sleevers losing pounds and inches!!

I had no energy for about 2 weeks then it bounced back to my normal energy level.
  5. You look great! Keep up the good work!

    Feel Gross After Eating?

I wish I had a suggestion for you. I'm going to have to echo the call your doctor suggestion. You really should not be feeling that way. I can't imagine it's something you are doing. Sending you positive thoughts!
  7. Count me in! Anyone have suggestions for surviving a week in Las Vegas for a work conference while I'm on purees/softs?? I'm really wondering what I'm going to eat given that virtually all of my meals are arranged by my company. Maybe I'll just have a really, really good loss this week.

  9. Cheri, you rock. There is a very good reason I always look for and read your posts (iggychicks too!). I'm 5 weeks post op and you took the words right out of my mouth. Although I'm sure I would not have said it as eloquently as you.
  10. I'm 5' 5 1/2" and my goal weight is 145. That's what I weighed in college and I was really comfortable at that weight. Hopefully I'll make it!
  11. I'm 5 weeks out and eat 600-700 calories per day. I'm on pureed/soft foods for another 3 weeks. I eat 3meals a day, and each meal is 2 ounces. I supplement with protein shakes to get a total of 75-80 grams of protein a day, and also get in a minimum of 80 ounces of fluid each day.
  12. That nurse is crazy! I just had my one month post-op and have lost 22 pounds as well. The dietician and surgeon said I did great. Perfect for someone with my starting weight. Forget about what that wacko said and be proud of yourself!!

    NEW YEAR's Resolutions!

This thread is a great idea! My resolution is to stay on plan (even though I want to cry because I'm pretty sure I've just entered the dreaded 3rd week stall) and to do more than just walk for exercise. I too will start C25K so I can run the Sunburst with my husband this June. I also will get back to yoga and strength training. And finally, I will not let my job rule my life and derail me from these goals. 2013 is going to be a great year!!!

Post Op - Day #4 need advice

I just posted this in another thread. I'm a side sleeper too. sleep is so important to recovery and lack of it can really have a negative impact on mood as well. I was having a hard time sleeping starting immediately after surgery. I just couldn't get comfortable. My mom suggested a body pillow and went out to Bed Bath & Beyond and got me one for less than $20. It changed everything. I sleep better than I ever did and think it is having a really positive impact on my recovery. My husband named the body pillow Steve. The three of us are very happy together

    December Surgeries?

Hi my fellow December sleevers! I had my surgery on 12/5 and got home from the hospital the afternoon of 12/7. Like others have said, the first day in the hospital was a blur; the second day there was a bit of pain and a lot of nausea; and the third day I was feeling good and ready to go home. I've been doing really well getting my fluids in today, but am falling short on protein. I hear that is pretty normal so soon after surgery. My only real complaint is gas and bloating. Killing me. Just like I've read on this forum a million times, walking is the key to getting rid of it. The more I walk the better I feel. So excited to be on the losers bench! Glad to hear everyone else is doing well too!!! Let's do this!

    Big News!

I'm on the same day as you. One day of liquid diet for me too and surgery at 8:00 am Wednesday. Scared and excited totally describes my feelings as well. I can't believe the day is almost here! Good luck to you!!!

    Any December Sleeves?

My surgery is this Wednesday, December 5th. Can't believe the day is almost here. Scared and excited!,
  22. The subject line says it all. Yet another frustrating trip to find something cute to wear. Why do designers think us fat chicks only want to wear long, baggy, ugly clothes??? I love stylish, trendy clothes and don't try to hide my shape even at my pre-surgery weight. It is close to impossible to find anything decent without spending a fortune at Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!! Thank you for letting me vent. I feel better now.
