Aww, Im sorry. you will have days like that. It has been a yr for me and I still get sore around my port site. You will figure out what does it and avoid it, sometimes I cant even sleep on that side. But dont worry it is nothing that you wont be able to deal with.

Maybe he is getting a tiny bit insecure. He might need to have his ego stroked a little. Is he one of those who subconsciously tries to feed you, like maybe bringing home ice cream or chocolate. My husband started doing things like that and I brought it to his attention and asked him not to do that, he acted like he didn't even know he was doing it. Try including him when you by clothes and stuff, And ask his opinion about stuff, and make him think this is for him as much as it is for you. He will eventually come around. Good Luck.

Question about fills and pain
sarawray replied to koolkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember my port being sore for a couple of months, and still 7 months later when I exercise sometimes I can tell when I have overdone it. When you get your fill, talk to your DR about your concerns about the placement. The way it was explained to me is that a piece of mesh is sewed to your muscle and the port is attached to that. That is way it is so tender sometimes. But I am sure if you ask your dr he will be happy to explain the mechanics of it so you can have some understanding of the way you feel. Good Luck!!!!! -
Day 4 and not doing so well
sarawray replied to Lionbird's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I carried an ice pack to work with me. That was my greatest pain relief. It was at least 2 weeks before I felt comfortable without my ice pack. And even after you think you feel better, be careful because it doesnt take much to make you sore all over again. Just hang in there, every day gets better. Your body has been thrown for loop and it needs time to recover. Just take it easy, and take care of yourself, now is not the time to be super woman. Good luck. -

Yep I can vouch for that. One cup will do the trick. Now keep in mind that most of that cup needs to be protein.

Throwing up and that time of the month
sarawray replied to Hope2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I am not sure about the rest of it, but I do know you should try to avoid throwing up if at all possible. Did your dr give you any nausea meds for after your sugery? If you dont have any I would call my dr and ask to call you in some if it continues. As for the other, if this is really abnormal I would call my obgyn. It might not be your period, where you by an chance a litlle late?? -
Yesterday i did 1.5 miles on the tradmill, and today I did 2 miles. I cant believe I did it. I can remember when I could only do 10 minutes at a time. Now I am up to 45 minutes. wooo hoooo!!!! The walk I am doing is for Scottish Rite Childrens hospital. I can do this!!!!

Some Dr 's will numb you, but even if he dont it will be over lickity split. So it really isnt any worse than a shot in the bum. Just be sure you can swallow the water before you leave.

My dr. gave me small fills. One month I even had to skip because he didnt have an appointment for me. I understand your fustration, because people who know are usually negative and when they dont see weight loss, there like. Told ya so. On my 6 month check up he gave me a big fill, and then I had to cancell my next appointment because I didnt need it. Hang in there you will get there. And then you will start dropping weight at a good pace if you do what your supposed to.
