Dr Dobruskin did my surgery in February. Don't worry your in good hands. I was nervous too but everything went really smooth. Good luck!

Oh and if your getting one here's a pretty good tip. Your going to want to shower like really bad heh and you got to keep it dry. I suggest using glad press and seal ( it's like Saran Wrap but way better. It actually clings to things) and wrap the drain around your stomach. Worked great for me.

I had it for a week. Looked gross and by the 4th or 5th day I could not wait till it was out. I just kept it tucked in a pair of baggy sweat pants. It didn't hurt out at all coming out more just a strange pressure when it was getting pulled. The suspense of having it removed is way worse than actually having it out if that makes any sense. Hope this helps

Congrats!! You look great! -
I'm almost positive this is spam being that the poster has three threads all about wlsingles.com or whatever it is. Although something like this would be great for me. One of my biggest concerns is dating and while i haven't since being sleeved explaining why I eat like a bird is going to be tough.

The scale friend or?
Chris P Bacon replied to brebee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh myself three times a week on average. Some people don't like to do it as often. I kinda think it keeps me honest and motivated. To each their own. -
It's 100% normal to feel nervous or scared. I'm 6'5 and inside I was quivering like a toddler. I wrote the whole "something must have gone terribly wrong letter" and as soon as I got home from the hospital I realized how stupid and silly it was. Listen to your doctor, follow orders and of course listen to your body and you will all do fine. Good luck everyone!!

Has anyone spent longer time on liquid diet then what the doctor suggests?
Chris P Bacon replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about three months out. My post op diet went first week clear liquid, second week full liquid, the next two weeks puréed food then two weeks soft foods then my doctor cleared me to eat anything. You can't worry early on about if your getting what you need nutritiously in those first few weeks. I was taking a multi vitamin gummy and just concentrating on getting fluids in so you don't become dehydrated. Also your stomach is being held together by staples I really don't think it would be wise to put any added pressure on them this early while your stomach is still healing. Being successful with your weight loss has less to do with your first few weeks and much more with how you eat when your off of restrictions. I would listen to your doctor but personally if they told me to eat food immediately after having 85% of my stomach removed I would be a bit concerned. -
I've been approved!

I had second thoughts as well, i pictured myself sprinting out of the hospital, but honestly I'm about 3 months out and down 65 lbs (95 lbs down from preop) and honestly it's the best decision I ever made. You will do great!! -
My confession. I fell of the wagon
Chris P Bacon replied to O.T.R. sleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Leanne71 don't just trash it, pour detergent over it so it is absolutely non edible!! I have to keep myself away from sweets and things like that or ill ruin everything I've been working towards. Being a single guy helps because I choose what is in my fridge and cabinets so I am sure it is even tougher having a family whose food choices might not fit with your goals but you can do this!! -

Chin up OTR your knowledge and advice on this site is priceless and has helped me numerous times. You took a big step in acknowledging what you have been doing wrong and I have full faith in you that you can and will correct any slight misstep you may have taken. Best of luck to you man!! -
I'm not far from Edison and I had my operation at RWJ. Good luck to everyone it's absolutely worth it.

So far so good I guess. I don't know what it would feel like if I didn't use it but between givin the choice between a pill every day or a trip to the doctors once a month for a shot I'd rather just use the spray. I plan on calling my doctor to get my blood work done soon so ill know then if my b12 levels are good or not.

How much did you lose on preop diet?
Chris P Bacon replied to mamamareli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh and the diet consisted of 5 protein shakes a day and clear liquids. I ate wonton soup broth from the Chinese restaurant like three to four times a week also tomato soup. -

I stuck to mine 100%. It's important and worth the sacrifice. I went four weeks and lost 30 lbs. I'm also 6ft6 and at the time was 480 so the weight melted off. -
I use it. One spray, once a week. I set an alarm on my phone to take it every Saturday morning.

Im hungry on this liquid diet
Chris P Bacon replied to angelab4real's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The best advice I can give someone on a pre op diet is this: eventually it will be your surgery day. You will be nervous as all hell and there was nothing more comforting to me than knowing I followed my surgeons orders and did everything I possibly could to have a safe, successful surgery. -
How soon to start lifting heavy again
Chris P Bacon replied to BryJohn's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I started lifting heavy six weeks after surgery. I eased into but by 8 weeks I was pushing myself pretty hard. Everyone's different so just listen to your body. -
I'm sitting in the parking lot wasting time before I go in and man my suit has never fit better!!

Do You Drink Coffee, How Much Weight Have You Lost?
Chris P Bacon replied to KhadijahRose's topic in Food and Nutrition
I am a little over three months out and i drink a cup of coffee every day. I like my coffee black so I don't worry about cream and sugar. -
Eating two days post op
Chris P Bacon replied to girlrfriday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would take small sips but make sure you track and keep an appropriate amount of fluids in you. If the discomfort is to much to handle don't hesitate to call your doctor remember your the reason there in business they are there to help. -
Question about shakes!
Chris P Bacon replied to xcillax's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with O.T.R. I add water and ice. It doesnt sound too appetizing but really it tastes fine.
