    Doctor Nsv

That's awesome!!! Keep rocking that sleeve!
  9. Another step closer to the sleeve!!! The Kaiser Preventative Medicine doctors referred me for the surgery thought I would be a great candidate. Another step closer!!! Woohoo

  10. Sorry to hear that. I had BCBS a year ago and the plan my employer had didn't pay for bariatric surgery. I was flat out denied. I waited an entire year, then got with a different insurance that actually covered it and now I'm about 3 months out from the procedure. This may be a minor set back for you, but continue to push forward. Don't let anyone or anything stop you. Good luck!

Glad you made the edit. I was thinking it, but I was going to say anything. LOL......I agree with your initial post though that the other person's insecurities definitely will reveal themselves.

Fellas... Keep It Real With Me!

Well...personally I've never been attracted to a "skinny" girl. I've always liked a women with a little meat on their bones. (Know what I'm saying. ) Having said that.... I would be lying if I didn't say that I more often take a second look at woman that's in shape (not skinny), rather than looking at someone that's obese. Does this mean that I am conditioned this way? Is this the way society has led us to view life? IDK. Now certainly it's very attractive to see women taking care of themselves, whether overweight or not. So... I think most men...if they're honest...would admit that they're attracted to women who are physically fit and pay more attention to them too. Having said that....I am not turned off by all women who are not physicall fit. At least for me that's the difference. There's men and women out there that would not give the opposite sex the time of day if they carry any excess weight. As soon as the weight is lost.... then they come around. Those types of people simply irritate me. IMHO...lol

    Plane Nsv

That has to feel extremely good!!!! Congrats to you!!!
  15. Sorry you went through that. I think if we all dig deep we can find those wounds from different stages in our lives, we probably could write a book. I have so many different examples that I could share from my personal life. Instead of simply reflecting on the negative, I look toward the positive, and use those moments as fuel to succeed in spite of the people's negativity. I wish you luck in your continued journey and a joy filled life!

Fellas... Keep It Real With Me!

Whoa...LOL! Chalk another one up for PdxMan!!!! That's awesome. Now what's funny... is that this girl went out of her way to make conversation about something that's really irrelavant. Now that's proof in the pudding that the attention definitely increases. Congrats on your sleeve! You deserve it all man!

Fellas... Keep It Real With Me!

Thanks PdxMan for keeping it real. I think we would all be fooling ourselves if we didn't admit that getting that extra attention kinda feels good and it's also helps to build your confidence a little bit. Your example of the "eye contact" and the women "initiating the Hello" is a very realistic example. Thanks for sharing!

    Any Kaiser Sleevers?

Thanks for the info. I heard Dr.Suh was really good as well. In fact I heard the two choices for the Corona program are either Crown Bariatric with Dr. Suh or Pacific Bariatric that I previously mentioned. Three weeks is what I've been hearing concerning the referral. I have attended the Pacific Bariatric Seminar and have completed all their paperwork. They're just now waiting for Kaiser to send them the referral and then I can get started on their process. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Man...your story is very encouraging.... especially for someone like me waiting to be sleeved. Great Job! And good job chronicling your journey. That's great to see. Keep up the great work.

    Any Kaiser Sleevers?

Pacific Bariatric Surgical Medical Group is located in San Diego. They perform their prodedures at Scripps Mercy Hospital and have been designated as a "Center of Excellence". There are four surgeons that are part of the program who have conducted on almost 20,000 bariatric surgeries. I was very impressed when my mom had the Gastric Bypass with them. And I will definitely keep you posted on how the appointment goes on Tuesday.

    Boyfriend Problems!

Hope you don't mind me peeking in the Powder Room, but I would have to agree with Nate. If your relationship is not the best right now, the Sleeve itself will not make things better. I think both of you have to be committed to making things better now. Having said that....as I've been reading on this board....there seems to be an underlying theme of break ups and/or divorces after a person has WLS. I personally feel this is primarily due to the person who receives WLS no longer settling in their current relationship if their unhappy, especially as you become open to new options and your horizons have been broadened. I certainly hope that you find happiness.... whether in your current relationship or not. You must take care of yourself first. Thanks for sharing your story.
