im on clear liquids until this thursday which would make it 10 or so days. starting thursday i go to the full liquid diet. trust me, i cant wait!!

i still have a couple of optifast shakes and soups left from my pre-op diet. has anyone used them on post-op liquid diets before? is it safe to do?

i had my surgery this past monday. i was up and moving and walking down the hospital hallways that evening (i have a high tollerance for pain i guess) and i was released the next day after the leak test. i must say, the second day was a b***h. hard to move around, pain, temp was at 99 degrees F and it was hard to drink an ounce of Water every 15 minutes. today is friday and i feel almost 100% better. just make sure you walk around and use your pain and nausea meds that you were given. most importantly, WALK WALK WALK. by the 3rd day, it'll be easier to drink and hold liquids down. you will see a difference. in the end, it is worth it. when i woke up the second day, i was thinking, what have i done? its the 4th day for me and i dont regret this decision at all! hang in there. we are all here for ya!

thank you karen! yes the first week is no picnic. what helped was doing thr optifast for a month. that kind of got me used to liquids only (besides their protein bars). i am pretty excited about this new chapter in my life.
