  1. Mexico...Dr. Aceves was my choice even if my insurance would have covered it I would choose him. No contest!

    Caloric Intake

I did a complete round of p90x program 18mths ago- pre surgery. Tony talks about "bonking" and getting enough nutrition to complete the exercise. I did not follow the nutrition plan, I had great measurement changes using the program. I am going to start p90x again (once this sprained ankle that I have tolerates it) I am going to continue on my prescribed method of eating from my doc and go from there. I expect I will have to add some additional calories to have the energy to complete but I am assuming I will add them in the form of Isopure and Beachbody Shakeology drinks as I struggle now to consume 800 calories of actual food a day. Your body will tell you if you need more energy to complete the workouts, you will feel overwhelming fatigue if you don't have the proper nutrition to support the intense workouts. JUST PUSH play and do your best! Would love to hear your results!
  4. AMAZING!! I am so happy for you! You are looking great! I wouldn't have recognized you! Enjoy your new slim self
  5. OMG!!! I had the yummiest (if that's even a word) shake for lunch today. So filling and satisfying. I can't wait to have it again tomorrow. I put 6-8 ice cubes in the blender to start then added 1 T PB2, 1 Cup Almond Milk, 1 Scoop of Unjury Chocolate Splendor, 1 T of Beach Body Shakeology powder and blended to the most perfect shake no commercial frappee or blended ice drink has anything over this one. Yum! 216 calories, 11 carbs, 30g of protien.
  6. Shared appetizer of pan seared scallops, a ribeye that cut like butter, garlic mashed potatoes, ceasar salad to start and a glass of fine red wine at a lovely restuarant in Mexicali MX at the Hotel Lucerne. I had surgery the next morning and have never looked back!

    Period Munchies

I have found that eating a low carb diet (and probably surgery too) has totally curbed my period munchies. Not sure if this will be forever but so far so good!
  8. Yuck to Soy Milk, love Unsweetened Original Almond Milk or Vanilla. I like Blue Diamond brand better than Silk. I find the Silk brand gets frothy in the blender. 45 calories more protien and calcium than regular milk and tastes more creamy than 1% milk in my opinion. I just finished an Sobe Lifewater mixed with Unflavored Unjury Whey Protien Isolate. 110 calories in the protien, zero in the sobe and 20grams of protien...so I have plenty of flavor options there.
  9. I use the Unjury unflavored in soups during puree stage. The key is to make sure you don't heat it above or add it to anything above 140 degrees or it gets lumpy.
  10. Best advise is always to follows your docs orders but the direction he gives on fiber is confusing to me?? Based on his fiber direction you would'nt be eating any fruits or veggie until after your 3rd month. Fiber is the general name for material in vegetables, fruits, and grains that our bodies can't digest fully. There are two terms used to describe fiber: Soluble fiber breaks down into a gel in the intestines. As it passes through your GI tract, soluble fiber absorbs water and slows down digestion. Soluble fiber is found in oatmeal, nuts, beans, apples, and blueberries. Insoluble fiber doesn’t really break down in the intestines. It passes through the body mostly intact. Insoluble fiber speeds up digestion -- it causes what experts call "intestinal hurry." Insoluble fiber is in foods like seeds, grains, and the stringy parts or skins of fruits and vegetables. My doc was focused more on food density and the impact that had on my stomach. So meat, tuna, chicken came later. I'll post the rest of the guidelines I had if you would like for reference.

    Need Support

Rest, plenty of fluids, rest...you just had another big surgery! I like SenekotS for constipation, I find it doesn't cause any cramping, and with your period on top of everything you probably don't need anymore trouble. Congratulations on your loss of 117lbs. Hope you feel better soon.
  12. This is the full liquid list from my doc hope it's a little helpful with ideas for you, keeping in mind all docs have different lists .Day 11 thru 20 ( full liquids ) Cream Soups Light Yogurt ( example: Dannon’s Light and Fit ) Jello-O Boiled pureed fruit ( example apple, pear) applesauce Watermelon, papaya or melon in small pieces Low fat milk 1 or 2% ( or lactose free milk ) Water, Propel, tea Soy beverages sugar free pudding Protein shakes and protein powders mixed with milk o Yogurt: buy the ones that do not have pieces of fruit in them. o All cream soups are OK. Just avoid the blending meat in them since they will be too dense for your new stomach. o meat, tuna, chicken, even if they are blended in soups are too much for your stomach at this point. You need to wait until you are on the solid food stage. o The following cream soups are very popular : broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts, Beans, peas. Nevertheless some patients have reported they cause excess gas, everyone is different. So I guess it will have to be what works best for you. o smoothies are Ok as long as they do not contain much sugar in them.
  13. Are you on an acid reducer? Like Prilosec. I think it's unusual to feel hunger after just having surgery (I think you said you are just going home from the hospital). I've read a lot of folks suggesting that the "hunger" you are feeling at this point my be acid. Before you leave the hospital perhaps you could ask about one. Personally I didn't experience hunger until about week 6 and I think even now I feel hunger is in my head and a result of falling behind on my liquids. Good luck to you and congrats on your surgery! I got thru the liquid phase sipping alot of clear broths and with the dreaded clear Isopure (I like it). I think the protein really staves off hunger.
  14. Just recieved an order of PB2 adding to my shakes, it is so yummy.

    Please Anybody

Sounds like a trip back to the doc is in order and for sure follow up with your bariatrics doc. No need to be in that much pain for that long. Even a really bad UTI should feel better after 3/4 days on meds. Good luck to you, hope you get some relief soon!
  16. Hit Onederland today!!! Yeah me!

  17. Just tried on the size 12 pant section in my closet and they do up!! I probably should not wear them out for a couple of more pounds but they do fit! Those 18/20's are going in the give away basket today! :)
  18. Yahoo!! Just put on size 12 pants and they zip...those 18/20's are HISTORY!!!

  19. I get "frothy" bubbles sometimes. For me, I think it's from eating too fast or on the edge of too much. I can actually spit them out. Gross, I know. It's all a learning experience at this point.
  20. Ugg, sprained ankle has put a cramp in my exercise plans. Glad its not broken...I was so enjoying my "skinny little" feet.

    Low Carb Tortilla

I personally can't eat one of these soft, it feels like a painful lump. But we make mini pizzas out of them with no fat mozzerella, fresh basil, and tomato sauce. When it gets crunchy it's a great pizza fix. I can eat a 1/4 of a 8' tortilla.
  24. Happy Birthday Enjoy your NSV and that pretty red dress!
