Vitamin d deficiency
puppyphat replied to staylo60's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am too, I'm 10 months out and this is the only vit I've had a problem with since day 1 of the surgery. I work long hours in an office so don't see much sun. I've been taking vit d supplements. -

How often do you weigh yourself? and not going crazy
puppyphat replied to Greeky83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I keep the scales next to the fridge. Every time I think I want something to eat, I weigh myself first, and usually reconsider. -
Where Are You in Your Weight Loss Journey?
puppyphat replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm 9.5 months post op and have been battling for the last 4 months plus. I'm 167cm and 50kg with a bmi of less than 18. I am still trying to lose weight, against medical advice. -
I'm still here. I check on the thread far more than I post. Thank you so much everybody that has tried to help me, especially Lissa. While not rehashing all of my struggles, I'm doing a bit better. My office was having a weight loss competition and I was told that I was the only one allowed to gain weight. I lost 5kg in a week. And put myself in the 40s. A coworker heard me making myself sick in the bathroom after lunch and confronted me about it. I'm now seeing a psychologist who specializes in eating disorders and a dietician who has me eating every 2 hours. Also, I've given myself the worst acid stomach by vomiting so much, so I'm on the nexium for life now. I've put on 2kg and am back in the 50s. I don't want to put on any more so I can see this being a real struggle. Even though I don't post much. It's so good to know you're all here, and notice when I'm not. Keen to catch up, I promise I won't be a downer. Let me know when.

I'm still here, I just don't post very much any more. I'm actually really struggling with my body. I'm wearing size 6 jeans that are hanging off me and I weigh less than 55kg. I am still a fat girl and need to lose more weight. I'm not happy, I'm obsessed and I hate my body more now than I did 60kgs ago. I'm sorry if this is a big downer for the newbies, and I'm sorry for not addressing everybody and all your successes individually. You have all done amazingly. I'm struggling to eat and will some days eat less than 10 grapes in the whole day. This is the reason for my absence from the forums of late. I hope you all understand. If anybody in Sydney wants to catch up, I'm in.

cross fit eating before and after - help
puppyphat replied to Fiddleman's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I can't help you, but I just started cross fit and your meal plan is helping me. Thanks. Good luck getting on the white board!!! And to smash 5-10km the day after cross fit day? I'm lucky if I can move from the bed to the bath. -
Well, today I spent the day buying business attire for my new job that starts on Monday. I've never had an office job before so was already feeling uneasy, but when you have no idea what size or shape you are, or what suits you and what doesn't, its all very overwhelming. I purchased 3 skirts, one size 6, one size 8 and one size 10, and the tops and dresses weren't any better. I bought a size 8 dress that I could have easily got in a 6, if they made it, then at the same shop, had to get a size 10 top because the size 8 was too small. I really think that sizing needs to become consistent in aus. My measurements didn't change throughout the day, but to go from a size 6 to a 10 in 10 minutes is crazy. You know, I bought so so many pairs of size 16, 18 and 20 tops and bottoms and when I got them home, they were too small, and I was too embarrassed to take them back. They made me feel horrible, that I'd grown out of yet another size. Now I can see that its the clothing sizes that differ so dramatically. It's crazy. But... End result, I have some very pretty new clothes, albeit of differing sizes.

I donate platelets monthly for burns and cancer patients. The blood bank excluded me for 6 months after a major surgery, which it considered having 85 percent of my stomach removed to be. I donated for the first time since surgery and felt fine, no complications, and they found the vein a lot easier. I don't know if its different for me because I'm not giving whole blood, but if in doubt, talk to your surgeon.

Wow, so much has happened, so many new people. Nothing new has happened with me, still sitting between 55 and 57kg, I eat popcorn, had a jd and coke on the weekend, love and enjoy my skim lattes. I've joined an oztag team called "the butchers, the bakers and the cocktail makers". Bought a whole new business wardrobe for my new corporate job starting Monday. All size 6s and 8s. Anyway, that's kinda why I've been a bit AWOL lately, because everything's been going so well. Hope everything is going so well for everybody else.

Undetected pregnancy during gastric sleeve surgery.
puppyphat replied to alisha510's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I needed to have my 4 wisdom teeth out in the first trimester of pregnancy, I was all set to have them out in the chair, but my ob and my dentist both said that a ga and strong IV pain relief would actually be safer for the baby than the stress of doing it while I was awake. I hope everything is going well for your friend and that she is not worrying too much. -
I had to google what hominy was lol. I'm Australian and we have nothing like that here, other than oats for porridge or rice cereal for babies. I'm just not hungry of a morning, but find myself grazing at night, do you find this too? I never want to force myself to eat just because I SHOULD eat something, because I like feeling restriction and don't want to get into the habit of forcing my stomach.

I'm 7 months out and still can't really stomach much for breakfast. I just don't feel like eating. I'll have a cup of tea first thing, then a small yoghurt or cheese and crackers for morning tea. What are grits?

What is your diet like six months out?
puppyphat replied to TheAbsoluteJoy's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm 7 months out and eat a completely normal diet. I have been at or below goal for about 2 months and lost 80lb plus. For Breakfast today I had a cup of tea, morning tea was a small spinach and feta wrap, approx 2inches, lunch was a cup of tea, 1/3 cup of greek yoghurt and a small Easter egg (too darn tempting) and dinner will likely be a cup of Soup and maybe some wholemeal toast. Yesterday, however, I ate 3 apricots, 1/3 cup of yoghurt, 2 cups of tea, 1 cup of soup for lunch, 3 small spinach and cheese pastries, soup for dinner with a slice of toast and a crumpet with apricot jam for sweets. I was grazing all day yesterday and was just sitting at home doing nothing. Today I was out and about all day and just never felt hungry, so didn't eat. I find that I CAN eat a lot if I'm sitting at home, eating all day, that doesn't mean I should, or do. I wasn't hungry yesterday, just bored. It's something that I need to watch. And all the soup isn't because I can't eat solids, its because its nearly winter here and its been raining non stop for the last week and I like soup on cold, wet days. -

It's been a very long time since I've had any kind of d!ck, but I really don't think that that can d!ck would tempt me at all!!! Deans spotted d!ck however, covered in butter and golden syrup, OMG, could eat it all day every day. Especially if its nice and warm and drippy. YUM!!! -

From one eating disorder to another?
puppyphat replied to It's all new's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
You haven't read many of these posts because most people who post them get attacked for rubbing a great loss in the faces of slow losers, or not being grateful for the results that you wanted from the tool that you got. That is the reason I haven't really posted. I am down to just under 120lb, consistently wear size 2, because of excess skin, if it weren't for that, I think 0s would fall off. I lost all my weight in 6 months. I hate my body, its still disgustingly fat and ugly. It's a head thing and I'm working through it. Good luck. -
At 2 weeks post op, you'll not be eating anywhere near the amount needed to maintain, bananas are high in potassium which helps with fatigue and muscle repair. I ALWAYS have a banana post workout and I'm not a slow loser. The benefits way out weigh the carbs.
