    Trying To Stop Losing Weight!

There is a rumour going around my work at the moment that I have breast cancer. This is because I have lost over 35kg in 3.5 months, have lost all my extra weight from my upper body leading people to think I had a double mastectomy, I've had glandular fever since being sleeved which meant that I had 3 weeks off work and came back to work on light duties and am extremely tired. I have also had my hair cut shorter and dyed bright red which means that everybody is noticing it falling out all over my black work shirts. Losing too much weight too quickly and wanting to slow it down is not something that people should be attacking each other for. I have a bmi of 23 now, and although I have to get to 18 to be underweight, I don't want to lose a lot more weight as quickly as I have. Don't be judgemental. If you want to call my situation BS, go for it. Or, you could just chose not to read this thread. Sorry Robbie, I'm of no help to you. I'm in the same boat. Those comments just gave me the ****$.
  2. Wow Lila, that's great. 37kg is amazing. I know what you mean with the shopping. I set myself the goal of doing all my Xmas shopping for my daughter, including Santa stuff, in under 3hrs today. I knew all the big things I was going to get, just had to go to all the different shops and also find all those little things. I did it in 2.5hrs and didn't have to stop once. Woohoo. All done.

When Is It Ok To Have Alcohol!?!

I am 3 months out and could get drunk off the sacramental wine at mass. I can't tolerate it at the moment and I don't like the feeling I get from drinking it. I go straight from sober to passed out, with none of the fun inbeteeen stuff. I was never much of a drinker, so I don't miss it. Trial and error I think.
  4. I'm the same with chocolate. Has anybody else bought an advent calendar for themselves? I figure 1 tiny piece of chocolate isn't going to be that bad, surely. I'm such a fatty.

    Weight Gain For Tom

Yep. I normally fluctuate about 1-1.5kg just before, then go back down after. It's the only time I ever gain.

On life. Feel free to ask anything. I'm still pretty fresh so can fill in any blanks your partner may have forgotten.

    Sydney Gal Waiting On Surgery.

I had surgery with him in August this year. I'm very happy with the results. I have already lost 124% of my excess weight and am enjoying my new lease
  9. And by big meal, I mean a fillet of salmon about the size of a toothpaste tube. I'm about 3 1/2 months out.

Are My Books Going To Get Super Small?!

I was an A cup before falling pregnant and getting fat, was fat for 6 years, first thing to go we're the boobs. I am now down from a C cup, back to an A. They are saggy and deflated. My boobs were obviously 100% fat. Everybody says "wow, look how much weight you've lost... Where did your boobs go?"
  11. I have mfp but never use it any more. I used to use it all the time but it always said the same thing so I don't bother anymore. I've lost 124% of my excess weight so far, being able to not fit much in my tiny tummy, I really don't care about the caloric intake for the day. I know that it will be under 600 most days and don't want to feel guilty about having caramel in my latte and blowing it out to 1000. That is the kind of obsessive thinking that got me fat in the first place. So while I do keep a keen eye on what I eat, I generally know how many calories I'm getting without having to log it everyday. It is a fantastic tool though for while you still have a way to go. Good luck getting to your goal. I'm about 10-15lb away from mine.
  12. Date sleeved:13 August Start weight:210lb Weight today:143lb What you eating and how much daily:anything I want, Protein first, then veg or salad. Minimal carbs. I can eat 1/2 a toasted ham and cheese sandwich or about a cup of stir fried meat and veggies. Have to remind myself to eat. Daily work out: How hungery are you?:hardly at all How you feel physically:good How you feel emotionally:fat Are you glad you chose the sleeve?:yes. Anything extra to say?:I've had glandular fever since being sleeved and have been bed ridden for weeks. I am not exercising like I used to and I feel fat and tired. I know I'm not still fat, I've gone from a bmi of 40+ to a bmi of 23, but I still feel 200lb when I look in the mirror.
  13. I had a toasted sandwich on grain bread with 1 slice of ham, 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of tomato. I squashed it in the toaster so it was about 5mm think and still only managed 1/2 in 1 hour. I just ate the ham off the other side and left the rest. I hate that "too full I have to puke of groan for an hour in pain" feeling that I think I stop way before I get there. My parents invited me for a meal in the city sometime in December. They know its been a hard year for me and they want to treat me to some time out. All the single parents will know that a social life is nonexistent, especially when you work 10am-10pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I told my folks that they should go out with just each other and have a nice night out. They insisted that its ok because I'm "now such a cheap date because you hardly eat or drink, we're more than happy to shout you dinner at a nice restaurant anytime you like". Lol. So that's why my 2 sisters or daughter weren't invited, they eat too much. Lol. I know they meant it in a loving way.
  14. If its any consolation, I'm working all weekend too dean. Trying very hard to stay awake.

    Help! This Is Not Working.

Ok, a response from a "quick loser". I lost 124% of my excess body weight in 14 weeks. I also had glandular fever in that time which meant that I didn't eat anything for more than a week and was in hospital on fluids to rehydrate me more than once because I couldn't even drink. I exercised like a maniac after surgery, and before getting sick and all the muscle that I have gained has been wasting since I've been sick. I have such pale, dry, saggy skin, no energy whatsoever and no physical strength to even take the wet washing out of the machine. So while I am technically a weight loss "success" story, I wish it had one off a lot slower. Far too many side effects of losing too quickly. My surgeon actually wants me to put on some weight to speed up my recovery. Be very careful what you wish for.
  16. Yep, 14 weeks. I do have to emphasize that I had glandular fever and was very sick for 3 weeks. Losing that quickly is not healthy and not what the dr wants. It was only because I have been exercising like a maniac before I got sick, then stopped eating completely, while my body was using up so much energy fighting the fevers and infection. I'm pleased that I have lost so much weight so quickly, but I have zero energy and feel miserable. So... While I'm very happy with the results of the surgery, I don't want anybody to compare themselves to me. 45kg in about 4months, including pre-op is not typical.
  17. Oh, and in the last 4months, I've replaced the batteries in my scales twice. I'm obsessed.
  18. Quick update. Just had my 3.5 month check with the NUT and surgeon. They said that I have lost 124% of my excess weight. They're concerned that I lost 4.5kg in one week, when I was sick. They're not at all worried about me gaining 1.5kg back since then, even though I am. So, as of today, I'm 167cm tall, 65.9kg with a bmi of 23.6. I am now 8kg away from goal.
